🔍 I Recently Audited a Prospect’s Backlinks — 70% Were Blacklisted.
Just last week, I ran a backlink audit for a new prospect who reached out for link-building help.
On the surface, their backlink profile looked solid —
✔️ Over 1,000 referring domains
✔️ Decent DR
✔️ A few DR60+ links from recognizable sites
But once I filtered down to dofollow + contextual + traffic >100, and ran those through my blacklist
💥 70%+ of the links were from blacklisted domains.
And here’s the scary part:
Some of those blacklisted sites were DR50+, had 10K+ traffic — and still got flagged.
What I found:
❌ Link farms disguised as blogs
❌ Spam anchors (casino, essay writing, adult) in their outbound links
❌ Fake traffic pumped via bots
✅ Only 30% of links were truly usable (clean, relevant, passed editorial review)
Lesson?
Don’t trust DR or traffic alone.
Backlink audits need deep due diligence — because even “high authority” sites can be toxic under the hood.
📌 Have you ever found a “good-looking” link that turned out to be garbage?
