At Socially Sane, our mission has been clear from day one: everyone who joins "The Advertising Course" should do everything practically. The idea behind making the course practical is not only to teach the skill but to give participants an understanding that there will be many real-time obstacles along the way.
Sometimes clients won't approve, sometimes you'll have to be creative within unrealistic deadlines, and sometimes you'll have to do boring but important tasks. If, after this two-month drill, you still think advertising is for you, then you'll have a clear picture, and achieving that clear picture is a win for our mission.
