One damaged shipment without insurance can wipe out your entire profit.

Goods travel long distances by sea, air, or land before reaching a buyer—and things can go wrong along the way. Damage during handling, theft in transit, or an accident at sea can turn a profitable order into a complete loss if you're not covered.

Cargo insurance protects the value of your shipment and makes the claims process far smoother if something does go wrong. It's not an added cost—it's protection for everything you've already put into the product and the deal.

Need guidance on protecting your shipments? Experts of Deals helps exporters make informed decisions at every step of the deal.

Small Exporters Could Get Locked Out of Europe — Here's Why

As the EU tightens its carbon rules, Indian engineering exporters are sounding the alarm—without accredited emission data from raw-material suppliers, thousands of small businesses could lose access to one of their biggest markets.

According to the Economic Times, EEPC (Engineering Export Promotion Council) has urged the government to make accredited carbon-emission certification mandatory for raw-material suppliers so exporters can meet the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) requirements. Without this data, small companies simply won't be able to export to the EU.

The stakes are high—nearly 70% of India's engineering exports to the EU come from MSMEs, businesses that often lack the resources to independently verify emissions data. The core issue, EEPC points out, is that raw-material suppliers currently aren't equipped to provide this accredited information, leaving exporters stuck in the middle.

As CBAM compliance becomes non-negotiable for EU-bound trade, how quickly India builds this verification infrastructure could determine whether its smallest exporters stay competitive—or get priced out of Europe altogether.

These two documents are often confused—but customs won't accept one for the other.

Every export shipment needs both a commercial invoice and a packing list, and they serve very different purposes. The invoice states the value of your goods and is used to assess duty. The packing list details how the goods are physically packed—quantity, weight, and dimensions—with no mention of price at all.

Customs cross-checks details between the two, so even a small mismatch can hold up your shipment. Get both right, and your goods move through clearance without unnecessary delays.

One "yes" from a buyer doesn't mean the deal is done.

Many exporters relax the moment a buyer shows interest—but that's just the starting point, not the finish line. The real deal comes down to agreeing on price, payment terms, documentation, and delivery timelines. Any one of these can fall through before the shipment even happens.

Genuine progress isn't a buyer saying "I'm interested." It's a buyer confirming terms, signing off on documentation, and following through on payment.

At Experts of Deals, we help exporters navigate the entire deal—not just the first conversation, but everything that gets a shipment across the finish line.

What's Really Slowing Down Spice Exports in 2026

India's spice export industry just crossed $4.43 billion in FY 2025-26, shipping to over 200 countries—but here's what most people don't know: the real bottleneck isn't demand, it's documentation. 📦

One missing certificate can hold up a container as easily as a bad harvest can. From IEC and CRES registration to ETO testing and the EU's tightened pesticide-residue rules under Regulation 2026/194, compliance now decides who wins a deal—not just price.

And the buyer landscape just shifted too: the United States overtook China this year as India's #1 spice buyer, with the UAE, Bangladesh, and Saudi Arabia rounding out the top five.

Whether you're a first-time exporter figuring out registrations or an established supplier trying to reach the right buyers, the paperwork only gets you export-ready—finding a buyer who's actually ready to transact is what gets you paid.

India Sets a Bold $1 Trillion Export Target—And It's Betting Big on Auto

India is aiming high this year, setting a $1 trillion target for goods and services exports—and putting the automobile industry front and center in that push.

As per the report of The Economic Times, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal shared this at the 66th SIAM Annual Convention, noting India hit $863 billion in exports last year and now needs $137 billion more to close the gap. "I'd rather do closer to a trillion and fail... than set a suboptimal target of 900 and get a very beautiful headline," Goyal said, pushing for ambition over easy wins.

He urged automakers to deepen localization, reduce import dependence, and compete globally—while stressing that growth doesn't come from shutting the world out. "Resilience will not come from isolation. Resilience will come from partnerships," he said, pointing to India's expanding ties with Japan and Europe.

With critical minerals, R&D, and global partnerships now central to India's export strategy, the auto sector looks set to play a defining role in the country's next big trade milestone.

This fear stops more exporters than any real risk ever has.

"Export is too risky"—it's one of the most common reasons businesses hesitate to even try. But risk exists in every business, domestic or international. The real difference is how well you manage it.

With proper buyer verification, the right payment method for the deal, and tools like export credit insurance, export risk can be managed just as well—sometimes even better—than the risks you already take selling domestically.

The businesses that grow aren't the ones with zero risk. They're the ones who learn to manage it well.

At Experts of Deals, we help exporters navigate risk with the right guidance and genuine buyer connections.
