🇳🇵 Nepal Flood Disaster

A devastating flash flood has struck northern Nepal near the Nepal–Tibet border, causing widespread destruction across Rasuwa and neighbouring districts.

The Bhotekoshi River surged suddenly, sweeping away homes, roads, bridges and infrastructure. Nepal’s disaster authority reported 72 deaths across seven districts by Wednesday evening, while dozens remained missing and rescue operations continued.

Authorities are investigating whether an ice/snow avalanche or landslide in the upper Himalayan region triggered the sudden surge. Rescue teams, including the Nepal Army, police and armed police, have been deployed as communications and access routes remain badly damaged.

⚠️ The situation remains developing, and casualty figures may change as rescue teams reach isolated areas.
