The most important person in your business… is probably not your CEO.

It’s that one person…sitting quietly with numbers, sheets, and reports.

Not the loudest.
Not the most visible.

The other day, I shared a simple daily dashboard with a client - billing, expenses, collections, margins, pending orders…

A daily health meter of the business.

His response?
“Not possible to fill this every day.”

Fair enough.

But then…
who will bell the cat?

If you don’t track your numbers daily:
• How do you know where you’re losing money?
• How do you anticipate problems?
• How do you take timely decisions?

You don’t.

The Store Manager was upset with the Inventory team.

The other day while visiting one of my client’s stores, I noticed something interesting.

“Sir, they miss counting some products… sometimes they forget to update transactions in the system… and finally the blame comes to the front-end team.”

Then I spoke to the Inventory team.

Their side of the story was different.

“They sell items without proper updates… later we struggle to reconcile stock.”

Classic retail story.

📌 Two departments.
