Kerala - Goal’s Own Country
Emurge and Popkon took a little creative liberty with football’s biggest stage. We borrowed the world’s favourite jerseys and gave them a Kerala twist - global football meets local Kerala culture.
The FIFA World Cup is beyond a tournament in Kerala; it’s a cultural phenomenon. Streets turn blue and white for Argentina, yellow and green for Brazil, red for Spain and Portugal, and countless homes proudly fly the flags of countries thousands of kilometres away.
For a month, friendships become rivalries, neighbourhoods become stadiums and every goal is celebrated as if it belongs to Kerala itself.
Here, we reimagine the World Cup jerseys through the eyes of Malayalees. From the shores of Kovalam and Calicut to the misty valleys of Munnar, from the rhythm of Vallamkali to the fishing communities along the Malabar coast and Nettippatom from the Thrissur Pooram, football finds a home in every piece of Kerala.
By blending the colours, culture, traditions, landscapes and flavours of Kerala with the spirit of the world’s favourite footballing nations, we bring a uniquely Malayali perspective to the beautiful game of Football.
A World Cup where Argentina, Brazil, Portugal and Germany don’t just have fans in Kerala; they become a part of Kerala itself.
The World Cup doesn’t come to Kerala every four years. It never really leaves.
