প্রধানমন্ত্রী হোন বা অন্য মন্ত্রী, শপথের ভাষা বদলানোর জায়গা নেই—সংবিধানই শেষ কথা ।

আমাদের সংবিধানের তৃতীয় তফসিল খুব স্পষ্ট—মন্ত্রীদের শপথের ভাষা নির্দিষ্ট, এবং তা মানতে হয় হুবহু ।

Article 75(4) অনুযায়ী, মন্ত্রীর শপথ গ্রহণ করেন রাষ্ট্রপতি; তাই শপথের মূল পরিচয় “মন্ত্রী”—কোনো অতিরিক্ত রাজনৈতিক আখ্যান নয় ।

যখন সংবিধান এত পরিষ্কার, তখন শপথকে নিয়ে নাটক, অহংকার বা বিকৃতি—সবই সংবিধানের মর্যাদার বিরুদ্ধে যায় ।

ক্ষমতার আসল পরীক্ষা পদবী নয়, শপথের প্রতি আনুগত্য ।

শপথ শুধুই শব্দ নয়—সংবিধান তা বাস্তবায়নের রোডম্যাপ।

সংবিধান বলতে আমরা বোঝাই দেশের মূল আইন এবং রাষ্ট্রচালনার মূল কাঠামো — নাগরি অধিকার, দায়িত্ব, সরকারই কিভাবে গঠিত হবে, কাদের ক্ষমতা কতটুকু থাকবে। সম্প্রতি পশ্চিমবঙ্গে শপথ গ্রহণের সময় সংবিধানের ভূমিকা স্পষ্ট ছিল: শপথগ্রহণ শুধু ব্যক্তিগত প্রতিশ্রুতি নয়, এটি সংবিধানসম্মত কর্তব্যের স্বীকারোক্তি। আইননির্ধারক নিয়ম, সাংবিধানিক সীমাবদ্ধতা ও দায়িত্বশীলতা নিশ্চিত করে যে শপথ নেওয়া ব্যক্তি জনগণের প্রতি দায়বদ্ধ থাকবে এবং ক্ষমতা অপব্যবহারের বিরুদ্ধে রুখে দাঁড়াতে হবে। তাই শপথঘটনা কেবল অনুষ্ঠানে নয়—এটি সংবিধানকে জীবন্ত করে তোলার প্রক্রিয়া।
