A healthy and safe employee is a happy and motivated employee committed to give it her/his best shot. On World Day for Safety and Health at Work, let’s pledge to foster a culture of safety and well-being awareness to create a resilient and sustainable workforce.
The 2026 theme – ‘Good psychological working environments: A pathway to thriving workers and strong organisations’ – shifts our workplace safety thinking from physical hazards to mental and emotional well-being.
Let’s build mental health at workplace through –
- Stress management and burnout prevention
- Fair treatment and inclusive work culture
- Workload balance and effective job design
- Supportive leadership and communication
Every employee deserves dignity and respect.
Remember, in the age of new technologies and growing challenges, psychological safety is as important as physical safety.
Research reveals that worldwide about 15% of working-age adults live with a mental disorder, and 14.7% of workers experience mental health issues on the job.
This requires collective action from employers, employees and policymakers to adopt responsible practices and move ahead towards sustainable progress.
