Here's the uncomfortable pattern we keep seeing with AI marketing tools:
Founders adopt them with real intent. Spend weeks getting familiar. The outputs look good. Three months later, nothing has moved in the business.
The conclusion they land on: "AI didn't work for us."
But when you trace it back, the problem is almost never the tool. It's one of three things —
1. Vague inputs going in (the model returns polished vagueness)
2. No operational layer to execute what the tool produced
3. Judgment quietly atrophying while volume goes up
The third one is the most dangerous. And the hardest to notice until it shows up in the numbers.
Wrote the full breakdown in this week's Substack — including what the implementations that actually work have in common.
Worth a read if you're a founder making decisions about AI in your marketing stack right now.
