The 1979 update to the LOT Polish Airlines logo was crafted by Polish designers Roman Duszek and Andrzej Zbrożek. They developed a comprehensive visual identity system, modernizing the iconic crane logo originally designed by Tadeusz Gronowski in 1929. The updated design retained the stylized crane, a symbol of elegance and tradition, while introducing a fresh livery for the airline’s fleet. The new look featured a predominantly white fuselage with a bold, italicized “LOT” inscription and a distinctive navy-blue stripe running along the aircraft. The crane was prominently displayed on the tail, preserving its role as a core element of the brand. This redesign aimed to blend modernity with LOT’s heritage, ensuring the logo and livery reflected the airline’s forward-looking vision while honoring its historical roots. Duszek and Zbrożek’s work created a cohesive and recognizable identity that strengthened LOT’s presence in the aviation industry.

We used NaN Jaune for the brand’s logo and as the main font on the packaging, giving it a unique character. We also used the Swear font in our advertising materials, adding a dynamic and playful touch to our ads and branded merchandise.

The Woolmark logo was designed by Franco Grignani, an Italian graphic designer and artist. Introduced in 1964 by the International Wool Secretariat (now The Woolmark Company), the logo resulted from a global design competition in 1963. Grignani, a jury member, submitted the winning design under the pseudonym Francesco Saroglia due to his role in the judging process. His authorship was later confirmed in the 1980s, aligning the logo with his distinctive Op Art style.

Ambush marketing is a marketing strategy where a brand associates itself with an event without being an official sponsor.

And Nike did something similar at the Mumbai Marathon.

Picture this: 12,000+ full marathon runners, battling heat and humidity, sweat dripping, hearts pounding. And just when they need it most, a massive billboard speaks directly to them:

“IT WON’T BE EASY, BUT IT WILL BE EPIC. REMEMBER WHY YOU SIGNED UP FOR THIS.”

It’s motivation served fresh, just when it’s needed most.

But Nike wasn’t done yet. As runners pushed further, they’d spot “spectators” cheering them on. These spectators wore orange Nike headbands.

So clever, Nike👏
