Prahallad Rout sends us this devastating news of Suvendu Mallick who passed away yesterday.
As Prahallad writes : A Tribute to My Dear Friend, Brother and Colleague – Suvendu Mallick
Today, I find myself at a loss for words.
The sudden passing of my dear friend, brother, and colleague Suvendu Mallick has left a void that is difficult to comprehend and impossible to fill. There are some people who enter our lives as acquaintances, become colleagues, grow into friends, and eventually become family. Suvendu was one such person.
I first met Suvendu in Delhi when he had come after completing his graduation to pursue his studies in Company Secretaryship. Like many young dreamers who arrive in a new city with aspirations and determination, he was also looking for a part-time job to support himself while continuing his education. Little did I know then that this young man would become one of the most cherished relationships of my life.
Suvendu started working under my guidance, but our relationship very quickly transcended the boundaries of work. Over time, we shared not only professional experiences but also life's countless joys, challenges, aspirations, and memories. What began as a mentor-mentee relationship gradually evolved into a friendship that lasted for years and eventually became a bond of brotherhood.
One of the greatest blessings that came through this friendship was the love and affection I received from his family. His mother, despite Suvendu being a year older than me, always treated me as his elder brother. That gesture was much more than a formality—it was an expression of trust, acceptance, and affection. I was fortunate to receive her blessings and warmth, and over the years I came to feel not merely like Suvendu's friend, but as a member of his extended family.
As I sit today reflecting on our journey together, countless memories come rushing back. The conversations that lasted for hours. The dreams we discussed. The struggles we navigated. The laughter we shared. The milestones we celebrated. The moments of support during difficult times. These memories now feel even more precious because they can never be recreated.
Suvendu possessed a rare quality that is increasingly difficult to find in today's world—he was genuinely good at heart. He carried humility without pretense, kindness without expectation, and friendship without conditions. His gentle nature, warm smile, and caring attitude made people instantly comfortable in his presence. He never sought attention, yet he earned everyone's respect. He never demanded affection, yet he received it abundantly from all who knew him.
Life often reminds us that our time here is temporary. Yet some individuals leave behind footprints so deep that they continue to influence and inspire others long after they are gone. Suvendu was one such soul. His physical presence may no longer be with us, but his goodness, values, and memories will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone whose lives he touched.
The world feels a little quieter today. A little less warm. A little less complete.
My heart goes out to his family, especially his mother, who loved him beyond measure. No words can truly ease the pain of such a loss. I pray that the Almighty grants strength, courage, and comfort to his family and loved ones during this unimaginably difficult time.
Dear Suvendu,
Thank you for being a part of my life. Thank you for your friendship, your trust, your respect, and your unwavering affection. Thank you for the memories that I will cherish forever.
Though destiny has separated us physically, the bond we shared can never be broken. You will continue to live in our thoughts, our prayers, and our hearts.
A friend like you is rare. A brother like you is priceless.
Until we meet again, my dear friend...
May your noble soul rest in eternal peace.
💐🙏🏻Om Shanti.💐🙏🏻
