Anjali Anand has spoken out against the constant pressure women face over their appearance.
The Dabba Cartel actor revealed that the worst advice she ever received was, “Lose weight, you’ll look better.” She also shared that she rejected several roles because they were written only for a “plus-sized” woman.
Questioning the film industry’s double standards, Anjali asked why male actors are never labelled based on their body size, while women are often judged more for their looks than their talent.
She said that when men gain weight, it’s rarely an issue. But if a woman doesn’t fit society’s beauty standards, her body becomes the centre of attention.
Anjali believes actors should be recognised for their performances, not their size. Her message is simple: stop judging women by their bodies and start valuing them for who they are.
