A WordPress security update is not a routine “click and forget” activity—especially when a vulnerability can involve authenticated uploads and server-side image-processing components.

Business owners should first confirm the current WordPress version, take a restorable backup, check user roles, inspect unexpected uploads and update through a controlled sequence. A backup that has never been tested is only an assumption.

My WordPress 7.0.4 checklist explains the business impact, the role of Imagick and Ghostscript, safe update preparation, post-update verification and the questions to ask your hosting or development team.

Read and share the checklist with the person responsible for your website:

A campaign showing a CPA better than its target may look healthy—but the target entered in Google Ads still tells Smart Bidding how much room it has to spend.

If your target CPA is ₹1,000 while the campaign has been delivering leads near ₹600, the difference is not merely a reporting detail. In a budget-limited campaign, it can influence how aggressively the system searches for additional conversions. The same concern applies to Target ROAS when actual performance is significantly stronger than the target entered.

My new article explains what Indian advertisers should review: target accuracy, budget constraints, lead quality, contribution margin, conversion tracking and post-change monitoring.

What costs a business more?

A ₹5,000 customer issue... or losing a customer worth lakhs over the next few years?

One of the most powerful business lessons comes from Ritz-Carlton's famous employee empowerment philosophy. Instead of creating endless approval layers, they trusted trained employees to make timely decisions that protected customer experience.

The lesson isn't about spending more money.
It's about building a business where people know what to do, have clear boundaries and can act without unnecessary delays.

If every small decision still reaches your desk, your biggest challenge may not be marketing—it may be your business systems.

More leads are not always the solution.

A business may already be running advertisements, posting regularly and investing in SEO, yet still receive weak or highly price-sensitive enquiries.

In many such cases, the problem is not traffic. It is a lack of clarity.

The offer is too broad.
The audience is not clearly defined.
The website does not answer the buyer’s real questions.
The enquiry process does not qualify intent.
Increasing the budget before fixing these gaps can simply create more wasted conversations.

A mentor helps the business decide what to promote, whom to target, what message to use and how to handle enquiries properly.

Good marketing is not about reaching everyone. It is about reaching the right people with a clear reason to respond.

A good product can still lose the sale.

A slow website, unclear offer, delayed reply or complicated buying process can push a serious customer away.

Two businesses may offer similar quality. The one that explains clearly, responds promptly and makes buying simple is more likely to win.

Quality earns loyalty. Convenience supports conversion. Trust supports growth.

Remove friction before reducing your price.

Many business owners do not have a digital marketing problem.

They have a decision-making problem.

They are active on social media.
They have hired someone for SEO.
They have tried Google Ads or Meta Ads.
They are spending money on content, design and website changes.

Yet they are still unsure:

What should we prioritise first?
Which activity is actually producing business value?
Are we building visibility—or merely remaining busy?
Should we invest more, change the agency or correct the strategy?

Consider this anonymised example based on a situation I frequently observe during consultations.

A business had been investing in SEO, social media and paid advertising simultaneously. The team was working regularly, reports were being shared and campaigns were running.

But enquiries remained weak.

The immediate assumption was that the advertising budget needed to be increased.

After reviewing the business, the real issue was found elsewhere:

The service positioning was unclear.
The website was trying to address too many audiences.
The advertisements were bringing visitors to pages that did not answer their most important questions.
The sales follow-up process was not aligned with the campaign promise.

Increasing the advertising budget would only have increased the cost of the same confusion.

The first requirement was not another marketing package.

It was clarity.

The business needed to decide:

• Which audience deserved priority
• Which service should be promoted first
• What message would build confidence
• Which channel was suitable for that objective
• How enquiries would be handled after they arrived

This is where strategic mentoring becomes valuable.

A mentor does not simply tell a business owner to “do more marketing.”

A mentor helps the owner understand what should be done, what should be postponed, what should be stopped and what must be measured more carefully.

Digital marketing tools will continue to change.

Good judgement, disciplined ex*****on and business clarity will remain important.

After more than 24 years in marketing, training and digital consulting, I strongly believe that many businesses can avoid months of wasted effort by taking the right strategic guidance before increasing their marketing activity.

Most businesses do not suffer from a shortage of digital marketing activity.

They suffer from a shortage of direction.

A monthly package may promise social media posts, SEO work, blogs, backlinks, ad management and reports. The list looks impressive. But a more important question often remains unanswered:

Is this the work the business actually needs right now?

A local clinic may need stronger Google Maps visibility and a clearer appointment journey before daily social posts.

A B2B company may need better positioning, service pages and lead qualification before spending heavily on Meta Ads.

A founder-led business may need authority content and a sharper offer before increasing its marketing volume.

This is where consulting-led digital marketing becomes valuable.

Instead of fitting every business into a standard package, it begins with diagnosis:

• What is restricting growth?
• Which audience deserves priority?
• Is the website ready to convert?
• Which channel should come first?
• Where is the budget being wasted?
• What should be delayed or avoided?

The approach follows a practical sequence:

Diagnose the current position.
Decide the real priorities.
Design a phased roadmap.
Deploy the right resources.
Review outcomes and assumptions.

Monthly marketing arrangements are not wrong. They become weak when activities are selected before the business is properly understood.

A consultant and an agency can also work well together. The consultant can help define the problem, direction, scope and success criteria. The agency or internal team can then execute with a clearer brief and stronger accountability.

For Indian SMEs and founder-led businesses, this approach can be especially useful. Budgets are rarely unlimited, teams often wear multiple hats, and one wrong decision can consume several months of time and investment.

The real choice is not between consulting and ex*****on.

It is between random ex*****on and informed ex*****on.

Before buying another package, ask:

Are we purchasing more activity—or building the right direction?

I have explored this subject in detail in my latest pillar article. Search for Hemant Kumar Sharma online and explore the blog section of my website to read:

Google Ads Competitor Keyword Targeting After Hindware Case: What Indian Businesses Must Learn Now

Competitor keyword targeting in Google Ads is no longer just a performance tactic. After the Hindware vs Google matter, Indian businesses must review brand safety, trademark risk and search visibility.

Read more: https://hemant.co.in/

For years, many advertisers have treated competitor keyword targeting on Google Ads as a clevBut in reality, it raises a serious question:

Where does performance marketing end, and unfair brand riding begin?

Good marketing is not about trapping the customer.

Good marketing is about attracting the right customer with clarity, relevance and trust.

YouTube is not banning AI-generated content. It is warning creators against low-value, mass-produced content.

That difference matters.

AI can help creators research topics, structure scripts, improve audio, generate captions, prepare visuals and speed up editing. But when the same tools are used to publish dozens of repetitive videos with copied ideas, generic narration and almost identical templates, monetisation becomes vulnerable.

YouTube’s direction is becoming clear:

A consistent format is acceptable.
A content factory is not.

A faceless channel can still earn revenue.
An AI-assisted video can still be monetised.
An AI voice is not automatically a violation.

The real questions are:

Does the video offer original value?

Has the creator added research, judgement, commentary or a meaningful narrative?

Would a viewer notice any real difference between one video and the next?

Can the audience clearly understand what is real, altered or synthetically generated?

The greater risk is not AI itself. It is inauthentic content—videos created mainly to fill publishing calendars, chase trending keywords or generate advertising revenue without giving viewers a genuine reason to watch.

Creators working in health, finance, law and other sensitive areas must be especially careful. Synthetic personalities should not be presented as qualified human experts, and realistic AI-generated scenes should be disclosed wherever viewers could be misled.

My advice to creators is simple:

Use AI as an assistant, not as the source of your identity.

Let technology reduce production effort, but keep the research, experience, perspective and responsibility human.

A hundred automated videos may generate temporary reach. One thoughtful video can build lasting trust.

Millions of Indians are paying astrology apps because people don’t just buy answers; they buy clarity, reassurance and hope.

Indian businesses must learn this: reduce customer doubt through branding, social media, local SEO and ads.
