IPL 2022 Rules; Many important rules of IPL 2022 have been changed. This time teams will have not one but two reviews in each innings. Along with this, the rules of catch out and super over have also changed. Detailed information has also been given on the arrival of a corona case in a team.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made some important changes for IPL 2022. Now teams will be able to use not one but two DRS. Also, even after getting the Kovid case, now the team will not have to bear the brunt directly, rather the IPL Technical Committee will take a final decision on whether the match can be carried forward or not.
It was informed by the BCCI on Monday 14 March that, if a case of corona comes to the fore in a team and they have less than 12 players (last-11 and one substitute). In such a situation, BCCI will try to go ahead with the match. If this does not happen, then the final decision will be taken by the IPL Technical Committee. Rather, earlier it used to happen that, if the match could not progress, then the opposition team would get 2 points.
This rule will also change in IPL matches
Earlier in IPL matches, a team got one DRS (Review) for each innings. But now teams will be able to use the review not once but twice in the upcoming season.
Recently, the Marylebourne Cricket Club (MCC) changed the rule to change the strike after the catch. BCCI has implemented this rule in the upcoming IPL 2022 as well. According to this, after the catch is out, whether the strike is changed or not, the new batsman will come on the strike.
Apart from this, if there is a tie in the playoff or final in the Super Over match, then the team that finished above the table in the league stage will be declared the winner. On the other hand, if the Super Over is not possible for some reason, the team which is above the points table will be declared the winner in the event of a tie.
It is worth noting that earlier the BCCI had released the schedule of the league stage of the 15th edition of the IPL. The league stage matches will be played from 26 March to 22 May. This league will be organized for a total of 65 days and the final match will be played on 29 May. However, the playoff schedule was not released and is still awaited.
