Visit Oslo ran the opposite of a tourism ad. Halfdan, a deadpan local, complains that the city is too small, too easy, too accessible.

Every complaint is a selling point in disguise. No crowds. Easy to explore. Authentic.
The results: over 20 million views on X, a 26% surge in international arrivals the next quarter, and the number one ad worldwide per AdForum, on a modest budget.

Melange Verdict: do not copy the sarcasm. Norwegian irony does not travel cleanly to an aspirational Indian audience. Copy the mechanism. Find your destination's perceived weakness, "too far," "too quiet," "too offbeat," and reframe it as the reason to come.

Concert tourism from India has exploded, reportedly growing more than 150 percent between 2022 and 2025. Fans now treat live shows as reasons to travel, not extras on a trip.

Singapore showed what that is worth. By locking regional exclusivity for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, it turned a concert into an economic event. Visa applications rose around 20 percent, tourism receipts ran into the hundreds of millions, and in show week flights nearly tripled while hotel bookings almost quintupled. Coldplay's Mumbai sellout, then Indian fans booking London shows, proved the instinct runs both ways.

For these travellers, the setlist is the anchor. Everything else, the flights, the stay, the days on either side, gets arranged around one date.

That is the sharpest version of culture as a system. A destination that lands the right cultural moment does not buy attention, it inherits an audience already deciding to come. Singapore's real move was not an ad. It was securing the moment India already loved, then building the trip around it.

The best feedback comes from the people behind the camera.

We believe great creator collaborations start with the right fit, clear briefs, and the freedom to create authentically.

This is the network we're building and we're just getting started.

If this is how you want to work, we'd love to have you.

A serious running sub-culture has taken hold in India, and it travels.

The World Majors are the dream. Tokyo, a World Major, ran roughly 40% international men and 60% international women in 2025. Berlin offers a qualification pathway that lets committed amateurs earn their spot. Closer to home, Singapore in December, the Ladakh Marathon in September, and the Everest Marathon in May give Indian runners a full calendar with easy access.

For these travellers, the race is the reason and the trip forms around it. Training turns into a countdown. The destination becomes the finish line they have pictured for months, then the place they explore once the medal is on.

A race calendar, then, is really a demand calendar. A city with a marquee event is sitting on a high-intent, high-spend audience that plans early and often brings family. The win is not a generic "visit us." It is owning the runner's journey, from qualifying goal to finish line photo, and framing the city as the reward.

This is what a Melange creator trip actually looks like when the cameras aren't rolling for the brand.

This is the fun part of the job.

Young Indian does not sit through destination ads. They follow artists. So relevance with them cannot be bought in a media plan.

Rather than run a spot around a music video, we put Singapore inside one. We wove the city's locations into DIVINE's track Saucy, until the destination became part of the song's identity, not a logo bolted onto the end.

Because a song gets replayed, so does the destination. Every listen is another impression the audience chose. The cohort's travel affinity for Singapore rose 21 points.

Melange Verdict: an ad interrupts culture. This lives inside it. For directors chasing young India, the move is not sponsoring the content around the art. It is becoming a natural part of the art they already replay.

The Canary Islands were already a top European destination.
Sun, surf, high visitor numbers. The gap was not awareness, it was depth. How do you get people to see a beach as a culture worth returning to.

With agency Fuse Entertainment, the answer was not more spend. It was "A Una Isla De Ti," a feature romantic comedy set across the islands, where place is the emotional backdrop, not the sales pitch. They chose a joyful LGBTQ+ love story on purpose, a brand funding joy rather than a spot funding reach.

The build is the lesson. One fixed investment, structured like real cinema: tax incentives, presales, an HBO Max window in Spain, international sales underway. Extensions into gastronomy and local life were planned into the schedule, not bolted on later.

Melange Verdict: this is the Emily in Paris effect, engineered. One show sent a generation's travel wishlist straight to Paris. For destinations chasing Indian travellers, the move is not another influencer burst. It is one cultural asset with a long tail, treated as a platform, not a post. Reach expires. Stories compound.

A great campaign isn't just about the final content, It's about how creators feel while creating it.

Cultural fit. Clear communication. Creative freedom.

That's the standard we're building for every collaboration.

Want to be part of it? Our creator network is open.

A few years ago, scuba was a once in a holiday add-on for most Indians. In 2026, it is the reason for the whole trip.

Easier visas, rising incomes, and a Gen Z and millennial pull toward experiences over things have sent Indian travellers to the world's best water. Surfing is riding the same wave. India makes its competitive surfing debut at the 2026 Asian Games, and events like the Little Andaman Pro are turning a fringe sport into an identity.

These travellers do not pick a country and then look for something to do. They pick the dive, the break, the certification, then find the place that does it best.

So if you market a coast, the beach is no longer the pitch, It's the waves, the reef and the overall community so sell the sub-culture, and the arrivals follow it in.

Visit California built its brand on range.

Beaches, cities, w**e, road trips. Families, luxury travellers, and road trippers all see themselves in it.

For a big, diverse destination, that flexibility is a real strength.

But range carries a quiet risk: dilution. Show everything without a strong thread and the campaign becomes a collage, not a point of view.

Melange Verdict: this is the India tension exactly. The market is too big to treat as one audience, so the instinct is to show everyone everything. The discipline is to lead with one cultural thread, then let breadth sit underneath. A point of view gets remembered. A catalogue gets scrolled past.
