That is only recently that the French Ministère de la Culture adopted its actual definition of art considered as all the reproducible goods with a symbolic or cultural dimension to it. But this extended view on art is somehow the one that already made Indian craftsmanship stand out for centuries. It is only putting things rights to acknowledge the pioneer contribution of India to the global history of art.
