KG Challengers survive, storm into the Top 4!
Khar Gymkhana’s Team Challengers booked their place in the semi finals of the Nestle and Chembur Gymkhana presents BSAM Billiard League 2026 after a dramatic victory over PJ Hindu Gymkhana Pocket Rockets.
Opening the challenge for Khar Gymkhana was Western India Junior Champion Tathya Sachdev, who handed his side the perfect take-off with an impressive 124-point win over contemporary Mayur Garg.
Pocket Rockets skipper and former 6 Red Snooker India Top 4 finisher Rovin Dsouza then stepped up with a captain’s knock, recovering the deficit in style with a convincing 121-point win over Deepak Khubchandani.
With targets set at 198 and 200 for Hindu Gymkhana and Khar Gymkhana respectively, Rocket Atharva surged into an early 70-point lead, piling the pressure on Challenger Akash Asrani.
However, the contest was far from over. Showing tremendous grit and composure under pressure, Asrani slowly clawed his way back into the frame, gathering momentum brilliantly to level the scores at around 120 points each before racing to his 200-point mark, while Atharva struggled to cross 152.
Dramatic comebacks continue to define the billiards league this season, and Khar Gymkhana now live to tell yet another tale as they gear up for a blockbuster semi final clash against the raging MIG Sharks.
Stay tuned as the billiards action at Chembur Gymkhana continues to beat the summer heat of Mumbai.
Until then…
