She started designing wedding invitations in the late nineties after completing her Bachelor's in commercial arts from Sophia Polytechnic in Mumbai. Post which she received her masters in graphic design from the Savannah College of Art and Design, USA. Uttara has an exclusive wedding invitation studio at Lower Parel, Mumbai, showcasing her work and wedding invitation styles. Uttara’s invitations are a blend of modern contemporary graphical elements interleaved with traditional Indian motifs and patterns. Her wedding invitations are unique in that no 2 invitations are the same and the same design is never repeated once it has been produced. Uttara adopts a very personal approach when working with a client and each invitation is designed to bring out the style, messaging and emotions of that particular client. She meets clients only by appointment and takes on a limited # of projects at any given time to ensure that each creation gets its due

This invite series reimagines Lord Ganesha through spices, each form symbolizing a wedding moment. It starts with a mortar-and-pestle Ganesha, then moves to a pure, minimal form, a formal Ganesha, and a regal version inspired by Jaipur Palace. A dancing Ganesha represents celebration, a playful shopper captures indulgence, and the wedding-day Ganesha with Kamadeva and a parrot signifies love. The series ends with a serene Ganesha with Lord Shiva, offering blessings and completion.

Here’s proof that it can!

Imagination and precision went hand-in-hand in the making of our beloved Lord Ganesha who graced Jahnavi and Vedant’s wedding card with sweet and spicy poise.

Each aspect of the card was painstakingly created: be it the peppercorn eyes, the star anise ears, the cinnamon crown or the turmeric trunk.

From cardamom to clove, bay leaf to rice grain, this beautiful idea was replicated in bulk, proof that scale doesn’t diminish perfection. Not when it’s done with this much love and devotion to every single detail!

Picture-perfect and framed for keeps, a gift winning pride of place in every wedding guest’s home!

For Jahnavi and Vedant’s wedding invite Lord Ganesha was presented in a whole new avatar - composed entirely of spices!
 
Each aspect of his form was lovingly and minutely assembled from star anise, peppercorn, bay leaf, clove, cardamom, cinnamon... to make a one-of-a-kind invite, as auspiciously apt as it was delicious to present as a framed gift for each wedding guest.

Designing the coffee table book commemorating the life and times of Arunkumar Ramnikbhai Mehta was more than an assignment. It was a legacy project, and we were deeply honoured to be part of it.

The challenge was to bring together memories, stories, photographs, interviews and insights in a way that felt elegant and engaging, allowing both casual browsers and committed readers to experience the personal and the professional, the global and the familial.

The dual meaning of the title, Hero in English and Heero in Gujarati, was woven in with care, reflecting Arunbhai as an industry leader and spiritual seeker, a family man, mentor and friend.

The book was finally unveiled in Mumbai, where everyone came together not just to launch a book, but to celebrate a life with love, warmth and deep respect. A moment that felt as thoughtful and meaningful as the book itself.

We recently had the privilege of creating a coffee table book titled Heero, honoring the life and values of Shri Arunkumar Mehta, visionary diamantaire and co-founder of the Rosy Blue Group.
Unveiled in Mumbai by Shri Sharad Pawar and Shri Mukesh Ambani.
Working closely with Mr. Russell Mehta, the book was conceptualised and crafted with quiet sophistication—subtle gold foils, gentle debossing, and thoughtful restraint in every detail.
Grateful to have been part of a book that doesn’t just tell a life story, but offers a path for others to follow.
