A statewide survey of Uttar Pradesh voters on the Ram Mandir donation controversy finds:
✅ 58.5% say the opposition has the moral right to raise questions on the issue; 11.9% disagree; 29.6% are undecided.
✅ 43.3% fully trust the SIT and police investigation; 26.4% do not trust it at all.
✅ 64.4% believe this issue will affect voting decisions in the 2027 Assembly elections in some way.

Our latest survey, 'Crossing the Floor: What Voters Think About Anti-Defection Laws and Political Loyalty' has been featured by Mint, highlighting key public sentiment on political defections in India.

Key findings:
• 68% say party-switching is wrong & unethical
• 62% believe the anti-defection law is weak
• 66% want MPs/MLAs to resign before switching parties

Recent defections have been reported in Aam Aadmi Party led by its Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha and in TMC led by its Lok Sabha MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar. Also, six of nine Lok Sabha MPs from Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) have switched to Shinde Sena faction.
