File complaints on suspected adulteration on call 1800222365. ₹1,58,28,677 worth of banned gutkha, pan masala and suspected unsafe food products were seized from 25 to 31 May 2026. 102 individuals were arrested. Action was taken against 203 establishments. 86 establishments were sealed. The drive was conducted under the directives of FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe. 130 establishments were raided for production, storage and sale of banned substances. Cases registered under Sections 26, 27, 30(2)(a), 59 of the FSS Act and Sections 123, 223, 274, 275 of BNS. FDA also targeted adulterated and unhygienic food operations under the “Safe Food, Safe Drug, Safe Maharashtra” initiative. 73 food establishments were inspected across multiple districts. Products checked included mangoes, khoya, dairy products, bakery items, edible oils, ghee, spices, frozen desserts, jaggery and confectionery products. Around 90,639 kg of suspected substandard and unsafe food was seized. The estimated value of this stock was ₹1.24 crore. Food samples have been sent to laboratories for further analysis.
