President of India Arrives in Gangtok on Three-Day Visit to Sikkim
Gangtok, May 26 (IPR): The President of India, Ms Droupadi Murmu, arrived in Gangtok today on a three day official visit to Sikkim.
The President was accorded a warm reception at the Libing Helipad, by the Governor of Sikkim, Mr Om Prakash Mathur, and the Chief Minister of Sikkim, Mr Prem Singh Tamang-Golay Also present to receive the dignitary were the Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Mr MN Sherpa, Deputy Speaker Ms Raj Kumari Thapa, Ministers of the Government of Sikkim, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha),Members of Legislative Assembly, Senior civil and police officials including the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, District Collector (Gangtok), Superintendent of Police (Gangtok), State Protocol Officers, and representatives of the Indian Army.
The President is on a three day Official visit to Sikkim where she will be attending the 7th Convocation of Sikkim University and present President of India’s Police Colour to the Sikkim Police.
