Coaches → let's talk about open rates and how to boost your open rates today.

Picture this.

You go up to a podium and start playing your favourite song on the guitar.

Ten people gather around you and show up to listen to your cover.

Those ten people see you perform.
.. And it's not very different in emails...

Let's say you send an email to 100 people and ten people actually read your email.

It means those ten people opened your email to see your message.

Which means your open rate is 10%.

In formal speak

Open rate is the percentage of subscribers who opened your email campaign. It's just simple as that. And it tells how relevant your email campaign was.

So why is this important?

Well...

To boost open rates, write intriguing subject lines.

While open rates won't be the most important metric, you track post the new iOS update... Writing intriguing subject lines is going to ensure that more people open your email to see your message.

Coaches - One of the biggest mistakes I see newer coaches make is not guiding their clients to the next logical step or action.

Or keeping it vague and ambiguous.

I think it's maybe like a fear thing where we're subconsciously afraid of making an ask.

If that's not you, then perhaps it's just a case of simple forgetfulness.

Either way.

Making an ask at the end of your copy - be it an email, a web page or a landing page or any piece of copy that you write is crucial.

Without a clear CTA, the reader does not know the next steps needed to purchase a product or sign up for a newsletter and is likely to leave without accomplishing the intended action.

In other words, your CTA or call to action is the thing that you want your potential clients to do now or the place you want to take them next.

Alrighty!

You may have noticed that I end every post with a call to action for you.

So here goes... My call to action framed as a question for you today

In this world of instant gratification, the mantra is too often, "I want it now."

Impatience is a function of the ego.
