📍Kamatchi Amman Koil Street ( section between MG Road and Mission Street) will turn pedestrian-only between 8.30 am and 12 noon !

Veedhi Vilayattu ( Street Play) is organized every year by Ananthi and Suguna as part of the Pondicherry Heritage Festival .

This is the first hike since the war in Iran.

Petrol will now cost Rs. 99.25 per litre in Pondicherry and diesel costs Rs. 89.39 per litre

UPDATE: Alert for heavy rainfall was removed by IMD. Low pressure area formed on May 11. But there are only chances of light rain for the next one week for Pondy . Max temperatures will be around 35-36 *C.

☔Pondy will get a break from soaring temperatures🥵 this week as a low pressure area is expected to form over the Bay of Bengal around May 11-12 .

⚠️ There's an alert for heavy rainfall around May 13-14. This is likely to change depending on how the low pressure intensifies and moves. We will share the latest updates.

: The fast track court in Puducherry has sentenced the lone surviving accused in the r**e and murder of a child in 2024 to death by hanging. Karunas and Vivekanandan were charged of s*xually assaulting and murdering the 9 year old girl from Solai Nagar, Muthialpet . They dumped her body in a drain near her house which was retrieved four days after the girl went missing.

The case sent shockwaves in Pondicherry and sparked public outrage in 2024.

📌The death sentence has to be confirmed by the High Court to be executed.

✅ The verdict is in. Puducherry did not ride the anti-incumbency wave that has gripped other states.

✊The ruling AINRC has captured 12 seats with its alliance looking at a comfortable majority (18 seats) in the Puducherry Assembly Elections 2026.

🌊The TVK wave in Puducherry was not as sweeping as in Tamil Nadu. But the party won two seats and also claimed 16.6 percent of the total vote bank.

Major wins & upsets
🏆CM NR Rangasamy sealed his popularity winning two seats with a wide margin in Mangalam and Thattanchavady.
🏆LJK party founder Charles Martin won by over 10,000 votes in Kamaraj Nagar,
🏆Vignesh Kannan , first timer and son of Congress veteran P. Kannan defeated Puducherry BJP President to snag the Raj Bhavan seat by a margin of less than 300 votes

👎All women candidates have lost this election making for an all-male assembly. This is a setback after the last election.
