Six months of maternity leave changed my entire life.
When I conceived my son, the plan was simple.
Six months maternity leave. Then back to normal.
Work. Routine. Stability.
That's what I believed.
But when those six months ended, reality didn't match the plan.
There was no support system. No grandparents nearby.
And I couldn't convince myself to leave a six-month-old with a nanny and walk away pretending everything was fine.
So I didn't.
That one decision changed everything.
Not because I lacked ambition. But because I chose what felt right when the situation demanded it.
Suddenly, there was no structure. No certainty. Just days blending into each other.
Almost a year passed like that.
Then, quietly, I took one freelance project during nap times.
No big vision. Just one small step to stay connected to the work I loved.
That step altered the direction of my life.
My son is four years old today.
And what started small now runs a seven-figure monthly business.
I still think about that version of me- exhausted, unsure, but unwilling to give up.
What felt like a pause back then turned out to be a doorway.
If you're in the middle of something messy right now- a career shift, a life transition, a moment where nothing makes sense - this is for you:
The detour might just be the path.😊
