A true incident of ‘Blowing My Own Horn...
Scene of one of my initial sales meetings...
The CEO knew my boss so he happily let me in.
At the top, he invited 5 of his teammates.
I opened my pitch deck…
And you know what...
I started regurgitating facts after facts.
Here's what I told until I learned not to.
We’re a 15-year-old firm serving ABC brands – prospect thinks - tell me how you can solve my (gripping) problems?
We have a world-class product – prospect thinks- again an empty statement we are not here to make an art gallery.
We have excellent customer service – prospect thinks- everyone even people with horrible services claim this.
We have been covered in several publications – prospect thinks - Paid publicity? How will that help me?
We offer the best price – prospect thinks- I am not here for the cheapest prices but for a better solution.
Now the sad truth is most sales professionals use the same approach in their cold or Intro EMAILS.
Result - Zero response.
