Benefits of Forum for Women in Business
Women entrepreneurs in India either lack social acceptance or struggle for funds and support for their business ventures.Only 10% of all entrepreneurs in India are women. Most of the women owned businesses today are micro, small or medium enterprises. Often they do not mature. Understanding the specific barriers women's businesses face and providing solutions to address them are necessary to leverage the economic power of women for growth and the attainment of development goals. Creating a support group to achieve these goals.

The introductory programme was held on 11th Oct 2018 at PYC Club in Pune, for which Ms. Babita Karkaria, Owner & Executive Chef of The French Window Patisserie in Pune was invited as the guest speaker. Although it was the first initiative by the WIB Forum, we got a great participation of 20 women from various fields.
Ms. Prajakta Kotasthane co - founder of Women in Business (WIB) welcomed the participants. This was followed by a short presentation on the objectives of WIB by co - founder Ms Meghana Mulye. Ms Babita Karkaria was felicitated by Ms Ujwala Kolhatkar. The interactive session with Ms Babita was very inspiring where she spoke about her journey, challenges faced and how she overcame them.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms Preeti Sapre.
