Did you hit a plateau?

You can only hit one if you are climbing. Otherwise, you are already on ground 0.

As we transition from 2023 to 2024, sharing my top 10 takeaways from my experience working with Coaches and Consultants while helping them up from a plateau. This applies more or less to other niches as well.

After a period of growth, we hit a plateau where there is no further growth. How to deal with that?

1. Plateau is inevitable and natural. For some it's a short period, for few it's long. And that's more of an opportunity than a problem. Not many could move from ground zero to ground 1. Pat yourself if you have moved a level ahead.
2. Strategy and tactics that take you from base 0 to base 1, may not always take you from base 1 to base 2. You need to re-evaluate things from the new state of mind and understanding.
3. The faster you learn, adapt, and implement is shorter you stay on the plateau.
4. You reached a plateau essentially means the force you are currently applying is not enough to take you to the next level. You may sometimes be able to figure out this on your own (if you are lucky) and sometimes you need external help in terms of a coach guide or partner or consultant. This helps you see what you otherwise can't. And that's not just OK, but the SMARTEST thing you can do.
5. 99% of the time, you need just a small tweak to propel yourself to the next level. One needs to be open to new ideas, and new suggestions. Sometimes one needs to keep the ego side, accept that small mistake, and be courageous to change the course.
6. Continuous learning, sensing changes in the ecosystem, and adapting the business model to changing industry current is key to remain relevant. What you learn from others' mistakes is more powerful than learning from their success.
7. Taking help is not being deficient, but leveraging the experience and expertise of others.
8. Plateau is a place to take a pause, not to stay forever. It's an opportunity to check if you are heading in the right direction. The more you stay at a plateau, the more sore your muscles will start getting, and the more difficult it becomes to move ahead. Basically, to restart - it takes more effort than it should take.
9. Observation comes in handy. While we talk about external help, sometimes just observing others and applying what works in one field to another (one of the forms of 'Innovation') can get you quick upward movement.
10. It's not always that you learn from others and walk the proven path. You can become trend setter if you are open to trying things with the right intent.
