Reclaim Identity Beyond Work - Retirement becomes a reset:
------------------------------------
45 and 65 are often the most misunderstood yet the most transformational season for women.
According to Malaysia’s national ageing surveys (MARS), labour force data, and gender empowerment indicators give us a clear picture of what women statistically do, value, and lean into during this stage — both before and after retirement.
To stay motivated and purposeful they need to be connected to their purpose, people and personal growth. Their motivation is sustained not by “slowing down,” but by redefining their identity, reclaiming their voice, and reinvesting in what matters.
Why is it so important for women between the ages of 45 to 70 ,75 ,80, 85 for their lives to stay focus and reinvent themselves?
A few thoughts run in my mind.
🤔Is there a deep desire for relevance?
🤔Is there a deep desire for independence?
🤔 Is there a deep desire to be confidence in your later years?
🤔 “Who am I now?”
🤔What do I want to do with the years ahead?
Let me tell you a story about my mum who lives in Malaysia who just turned 86 in May.
By God’s grace she keeps herself busy.
Lives mostly alone other then my brother and his wife pops in a couple of days in the week.
She cooks, does her own laundry and also the household chores by herself. She does have someone come and clean the house once a week.
She was a working mum, retired from civil service and fiercely independent.
How my mum practices the Power of the P’s in her golden age?
