You’ve just polished off a hearty meal, and as you lean back, that familiar craving for something sweet begins to bubble up. Sound familiar? This universal urge has roots deep in our biology. After eating, our blood sugar levels dip, and our bodies instinctively yearn for a quick energy boost. What better than a Sweet fix? But again, that's not only why desserts became a habitual thing.

In evolutionary terms, sweetness is associated with ripe, high-calorie foods, which were vital for early humans’ survival. Craving sweets could be a leftover evolutionary response, encouraging us to seek out calorie-dense foods after meals to store energy for the future.

Going back in history, there are many instances where we can find evidence of humans having a sweet fix after a meal. Ancient Egyptians drizzled honey over everything, while medieval banquets featured extravagant sugar confections designed to impress. Sounds a bit too much, right?

Fast forward to today, and it’s clear that businesses have tapped into our sweet tooth like never before. From Bakeries & Street Vendors offering convenient desserts to major corporations churning out packaged sweets, the dessert market is a thriving billion-dollar market in India, where sweets have been a beloved part of culinary traditions for centuries.

Time and again, we come across, the craziest of conspiracy theories. Be it the UFOs spotted recently in Alaska (which the government claims are hot air balloons & UFOlogists say otherwise) or the theory that Mark Zuckerberg is an actual alien. As crazy as they sound, these kinds of theories have been a part of our lives forever, and even in the modern world, a lot of real people do believe in them, almost religiously. Whether you believe in them or not, have you ever wondered why we’re so drawn to conspiracy theories?

Well, in truth, there are a lot of reasons. One such reason would be the shared evolutionary trait that we all have – which is, the way we verify information without any personal experience. There’s a lot in this world that we don’t personally experience and we rely on our existing knowledge to fill in the gaps. And oh, we do that because human beings love to understand the ‘whys’ behind everything. Conspiracies add a new level of thrill & flavor to this.

Another important reason is that human beings are pattern lovers. And if something happens that defies any of the patterns we know, we’ll also seek for closures that are beyond convention too.

Lastly, somewhere, we all feel the need to have a thrilling experience. Perhaps, paranoia. Even while watching a true crime documentary, you’d naturally jump out of the couch if a stranger knocked on the door. That feeling makes us experience a rush of emotions that we crave later as well. Therefore, we eventually buy into conspiracy theories. A lot of us also feel drawn towards it because it confirms what we have been pondering about.
