Why does belly fat accumulate? π€

Belly fat is not just about overeating or lack of exercise. In women especially, hormonal imbalance plays a major role. Factors like stress, poor sleep, insulin resistance, PCOS, thyroid issues, menopause, and post-pregnancy changes can all lead to fat accumulation around the abdomen.
High cortisol (stress hormone) encourages fat storage in the belly, while low estrogen or insulin imbalance makes it harder to burn fat despite dieting. Thatβs why crash diets often fail β the root cause must be addressed, not just calories.
A balanced diet, regular physical activity, stress management, proper sleep, and timely medical guidance can help reduce belly fat the healthy way.
