Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 | Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath
A collective cleanliness drive and one-hour Shramdaan was organised at the Udharbond Market Area, Udharbond LAC, Cachar District, on 1st October 2026, under the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign, themed “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath.”
The cleanliness drive was led by Shri Krishnendu Paul, Hon’ble Minister, PHED, along with Shri Kaushik Rai, Hon’ble Minister; Shri Kanad Purkayastha, Hon’ble Rajya Sabha MP; Shri Rajdeep Goala, Hon’ble MLA; Shri Kishor Nath, Hon’ble MLA; and Shri Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha, Hon’ble MLA, in the presence of officials from PHED & P&RD.
The programme witnessed active participation from public representatives, government officials, local stakeholders and community members, reinforcing the spirit of Jan Bhagidari and collective responsibility towards cleanliness, sanitation and a cleaner Assam.
Similar Swachhata Hi Seva activities and one-hour Shramdaan programmes were also observed across all LACs of Cachar District, with active participation from public representatives, officials and local communities.
The initiative reflects the collective commitment of the administration and the community towards promoting Swachhata, responsibility and sustainable cleanliness practices across Cachar District.

Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 | Safai Mitra Suraksha Evam Samman

As a part of the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 Campaign, Safai Mitra Suraksha Evam Samman Shivirs were organized at different Gram Panchayat (GP) and District levels across Cachar District.

As part of these initiatives, Safai Mitras were felicitated and honoured in recognition of their valuable contribution towards maintaining cleanliness, sanitation and a healthier environment across the district.

As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 Campaign, the “Kabaad Se Jugaad” Programme was organised across Cachar District on 28/09/2026, promoting the creative transformation and reuse of waste materials.

World Tourism Day | Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026
On the occasion of World Tourism Day, cleanliness drives were carried out at Rajbari Tourist Place, temples, churches, community toilets, market areas, and other public places under the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 Campaign in Cachar District.
The initiative focused on promoting clean and hygienic surroundings, responsible tourism, public participation, and sustainable cleanliness practices to keep tourist destinations and community spaces clean and welcoming.

As part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 Campaign, today’s activities under Jan Bhagidari included a Door-to-Door Awareness & Advocacy Programme and a Cricket Match among School Students as part of Swachhata Sports.

The initiatives aimed to promote awareness on cleanliness, hygiene, responsible waste management and community participation, while engaging students and the community through sports and advocacy activities under Cachar District.

As part of the Jan Bhagidari Advocacy Drive under Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026, door-to-door advocacy activities were conducted across Cachar District to create awareness among the community on the importance of plastic-free practices and no-littering.

The initiative focused on encouraging citizens to adopt responsible waste-management practices, reduce the use of single-use plastics, and keep their surroundings clean and litter-free.
