A GSLV rocket, carrying ISRO's earth observation satellite EOS-05, successfully launched from the spaceport in a pre-dawn mission on Friday from Andhra Pradesh's Sriharikota.

The 51.7 metre tall GSLV-F17 blasted off from the second launchpad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, about 135 km from Chennai, at a prefixed time of 2.55 am, lighting up the dark skies amid rains.

The mission carries EOS-5, a satellite designed to provide India with a continuous bird's eye view of the nation from a height of nearly 36,000 kilometers above earth.

A 20-year-old from Madhya Pradesh is proving one person can make a difference. Bittu, known online as Bittu Tabahi, has been removing plastic and waste from the polluted Ajnar River, spending his own money on supplies instead of waiting for authorities to act, with each ghat taking over three months to clean.

The mission hasn't come without cost. Bittu revealed his hands got infected from repeated contact with polluted water, with skin peeling off his hands and feet.

"They make fun of me, call me crazy," he shared, adding that some mockingly call him "naala saaf karne wala." Despite the criticism, Bittu keeps returning to the river. His story has gone viral, drawing praise from celebrities like Chitrangda Singh, with many saying he deserves far more recognition.

Members of the Bajrang Dal staged a protest outside Borkhola Police Station, raising serious concerns over the non-arrest of an accused individual, Kabir Hussain (also known as Dalim Hussain).

According to spokespersons at the scene, the accused allegedly abducted a young Hindu woman for the second time. Although local police successfully recovered the victim approximately a month and a half ago, the primary accused remains at large.

Demonstrators expressed grave concern regarding the welfare and future of the victim and her newborn child, questioning the lack of decisive police action over the past 18 months.
The Bajrang Dal has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the local police administration to arrest the accused, warning of larger-scale protests across the region if their demands are not met within the stipulated timeframe.

KURKURI TEA GARDEN Hon'ble MLA Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha recently visited Kurkuri Tea Garden to inspect ongoing community initiatives and discuss plans for local infrastructure and economic growth.
