*TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR*
*TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 11-06-2026:-*
From *09-06-2026, 1600 hrs to 10-06-2026, 1600 hrs*, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to the breakdown of *04 HMVs* between *Ramban and Banihal*.

*Passengers/LMV operators* are advised to prefer journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW *during daytime* . *Night travel* should be avoided due to the apprehension of *shooting stones/ landslides, movement of nomads* towards valley as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal which may cause inconvenience to commuters.

*NH-44 (NHW)*
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, *LMVs Passenger/HPVs/ Private Cars/HMVs (Good carrier)* shall be allowed *from both sides* on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. Commuters are advised to follow *lane discipline* ; overtaking, *wrong lane driving* will cause congestion. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding the road condition.

*SFs Convoy Movement: -*
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed *from both sides* on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. They shall move after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

*Kishtwar-Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244:-*
As per order issued by the SDM Chatroo vide No. SDM/C/2026-27/270-78 dated 24-05-2026 and the SDM Kokernag vide No SDM/KNG/26-27/296 dated 25-05-2026, subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from Road maintenance agencies (NHIDCL). *LMVs Passenger/Private Cars* shall be allowed to ply from *both sides viz Kishtwar towards Srinagar and vice versa* on Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road. These vehicles shall be allowed to move from *PP Parana and Daksum between 0800 hrs and 1600 hrs* . However, *HMVs upto six tyres and HPSVs (seating capacity upto 30 passengers only)* shall be allowed to ply from *Srinagar towards Kishtwar* and these vehicles shall be allowed to move *from Daksum between 0800 hrs and 1600 hrs* . *No vehicle* shall be allowed after cut off timing. TCU Jammu /Ramban/TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the cut off timing.

*SSG ROAD*
As per order issued by the DIVCOM Kashmir vide No. DivCom/Dev/100/2026/4392-4410 dated 14-05-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions, *LMVs shall be allowed to ply from both sides* on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari road, i.e., from Srinagar towards Kargil and vice versa. These vehicles shall be allowed to move from *Sonamarg towards Kargil and from Minamarg towards Srinagar* (only, after receiving green signal from the road maintenance agencies) *up to 1300 hrs*. However, *HMVs shall be allowed to move from Minamarg towards Srinagar between 1200 hrs and 1500 hrs,* and *no vehicle* shall be allowed *after 1500 hrs.* Motorists are advised to *carry and use anti-skid chain* to gain more grip on the slippery road. TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform all concerned about the cut-off timing.
SFs convoy moving on the SSG road shall plan their movement in such a manner that civil traffic is not disturbed.

*Mughal Road:-*
As per the orders issued by the District Magistrate, Shopian vide No. DMS/ADM-PS/25-26/276-85 dated 22-04-2026 and the District Magistrate, Poonch vide No. DMP/J/376-91 dated 22-04-2026, and subject to fair weather and good road conditions, vehicular movement (*LMVs followed by HMVs up to six tyres only* ) shall be allowed on Mughal Road from *both sides* , i.e., from Poonch towards Shopian and vice versa. These vehicles shall be allowed *from Chandimarh (Baffliaz) towards Shopian between 0900 hrs and 1700 hrs, and from Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch between 1000 hrs and 1700 hrs* , after obtaining clearance from the road maintenance agency (GREF). *No vehicle* shall be allowed after the cut-off timings. TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall inform all concerned regarding the cut-off timings.

People are advised to undertake journey only after confirming status of the road from Traffic control units as under:-

*DIG SKR Chairs Yatra Preparedness Meeting at Pahalgam; Reviews Security and Coordination Arrangements for SANJY-2026*

Anantnag, 10 June 2026:
In view of the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, DIG South Kashmir Range (SKR), Javid Iqbal Matoo today chaired a comprehensive Yatra preparedness meeting at Pahalgam to review security arrangements and ensure seamless coordination among all stakeholder agencies.

The meeting was attended by DIG CRPF, Commander 1 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, SSP Anantnag, Commanding Officers of Adhoc Companies, ASP North Camp Aishmuqam, and other senior officers from Police, CAPFs, and allied agencies.

During the meeting, DIG SKR reviewed the overall preparedness for the smooth and secure conduct of the annual pilgrimage. Detailed discussions were held on deployment plans, area domination, traffic management, emergency response mechanisms, communication systems, coordination among security agencies, and arrangements for the safety and convenience of pilgrims.

Emphasizing the importance of inter-agency coordination, DIG SKR directed all officers to maintain a high level of alertness and ensure effective implementation of security measures across the Yatra route. He stressed the need for proactive policing, regular briefing of personnel, and prompt response to any emerging situation.
The officers present briefed the chair regarding the arrangements made within their respective jurisdictions and assured full cooperation for the successful conduct of the Yatra.

DIG SKR expressed satisfaction over the preparedness measures undertaken so far and urged all agencies to work in close coordination to ensure a safe, secure, and hassle-free pilgrimage for devotees.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the collective commitment of all security and civil agencies towards the successful conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.

*Baramulla Police Arrests Notorious Drug Peddler in Kunzer; Tramadol Tablets Recovered*

In its continued efforts to curb the menace of drug abuse and trafficking, Baramulla Police apprehended a notorious drug peddler in Kunzer and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A police patrolling party deployed in Kunzer market observed a suspicious individual near Government Girls High School, Kunzer. On noticing the police presence, the individual attempted to flee from the spot. Acting swiftly, the police party chased and apprehended him.
During questioning, he identified himself as Khalid Bin Ahad Sofi S/O Abdul Ahad Sofi R/O Gokhama. Upon his personal search, a strip containing 09 tablets of Tramadol Hydrochloride was recovered from his possession.
An Executive Magistrate and independent witnesses were called to the spot, and all legal formalities were completed in accordance with law.
The accused was arrested, and FIR No. 76/2026 under Sections 8/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kunzer. Investigation into the case has been taken up.
It is pertinent to mention that the accused is a known drug peddler operating in the area.

Baramulla Police remains committed to its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and urges the public to continue extending cooperation in the fight against the drug menace.

*Anti-Drug Enforcement Drive Continues in Sopore under Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan; One Drug Peddler Arrested*

*Sopore, June 09, 2026:*

In continuation of the ongoing *anti-drug enforcement drive* under the *100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan*, *Sopore Police apprehended a drug peddler* during *naka checking* in the jurisdiction of *Police Post Watergam*.

During naka checking at *Hib Dangerpora Crossing*, a suspicious individual was intercepted and subjected to search. During personal search, a *charas-like substance was recovered* from his possession and *seized in accordance with due legal procedure*.

The accused has been identified as:
*Aamir Nazir Tantray, S/O Nazir Ahmad Tantray, R/O Gund Brath, Sopore.*

Accordingly, *FIR No. 53/2026 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act* has been registered at *Police Station Dangiwacha* and *further investigation has been taken up* to ascertain the source and wider network involved.

*Sopore Police reiterates that strict action against drug peddlers and traffickers shall continue across the district.* Every effort is being made to *dismantle the narcotics ecosystem* and *prevent the spread of drugs among the youth*.

IGP Kashmir Reviews Security Arrangements for Amarnath Yatra, Muharram

Srinagar, June 8th (CNS): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V. K. Birdi (IPS) on Monday chaired a high-level meeting at PCR Kashmir to review security and logistical arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2026) and Muharram observances across the Valley.

Senior police officers from all districts attended the meeting and briefed the IGP on district-wise preparedness, security measures, and logistical requirements. Birdi stressed strict adherence to SOPs, enhanced surveillance, regular area domination, and round-the-clock monitoring of Yatra routes to ensure pilgrim safety.

He directed officers to remain prepared for emergencies, conduct mock drills, strengthen security at Yatra camps, and ensure adequate deployment of personnel and surveillance systems.

The meeting also reviewed Muharram arrangements, with the IGP emphasizing effective traffic management, close coordination with civil administration, and necessary security measures to ensure peaceful observances across Kashmir.
Birdi urged officers to maintain high standards of vigilance, professionalism, and coordination for the smooth conduct of both events.
