Youth killed in old Srinagar
Srinagar, Apr 30: A youth was killed while four others including a woman injured after the paramilitary forces opened fire in Nawakadal area of old Srinagar Wednesday evening.

Nowhatta: 4 votes balloted in Maliksahab, Roshanagar booths

: Only four votes were cast in Maliksahab and Roshanagar polling stations of Nowhatta Wednesday till 1 pm.
Out of registered 568, only three used their franchise in Maliksahab while just one vote was balloted out of 266 votes in Roshangar.
At Islamia School Gojwara polling station, 1 vote has been cast out of 767 registered voters.
In Rajouri Kadal, out of total 412 votes, no vote was balloted till 1 pm.

Police crackdown on 'frivolous' pages

Srinagar, Apr 30: Police have booked 12 persons across Kashmir for posting “incorrect, frivolous and fake information” on social networking sites particularly Facebook.
An official spokesman said police have found 12 pages which were posting “baseless information.”
The pages, he said, include: ‘Kashmir News Agency, Loving Kashmir, Youths of Downtown-Kashmir, 24X7 Breaking News, Kashmir Banega Pakistan, Pahallan the city of Hurriyat G, Ganderbal News Agency, All (J&K) Breaking News Alert, True Muhajid, Election Boycott Bandipora, Voice of Kashmir Youth and Youths of Down Town.’
“Police have registered case against these pages and persons running these pages are being identified,” the spokesman said.

Polling booth attacked in Soura

Srinagar, Apr 30: A polling booth was on Wednesday attacked by youth in Soura locality of summer capital here.
The angry youth attacked Government Boys Higher Secondary School polling station, leading to injuries.
A PSO of opposition Peoples Democratic Party chief polling agent was injured in the attack. Two vehicles were also damaged.
According to reports, presence of “bogus” voters triggered the stone pelting.
Meanwhile, Anchar polling station was also reportedly came under attack of stone throwers

Ganderbal records highest of 20.40 voting till 11 am: Govt

Srinagar, Apr 30: Srinagar witnessed 5.14 percent polling till 11 am, government said.
According to an official spokesman, Ganderbal recorded 20.40 percent while Budgam witnessed 15.06 percent votes till 11 am.
