🚨 Trump Lied About “Sharia Courts” in the UK, Even Britain Called It Nonsense
Donald Trump claimed London has “Sharia courts adjudicating law” and used it to push anti-Muslim rhetoric again.
But there’s one huge problem:
the claim is false.
The UK government itself has already stated clearly:
“Sharia law forms no part of the law of England and Wales.”
Even UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer publicly called Trump’s claim:
“Ridiculous nonsense.”
So what actually exists?
Sharia councils do operate in Britain, but they have:
• no legal authority
• no power to enforce laws
• no official role in the UK legal system
They mostly deal with private religious matters like marriage advice or community disputes, similar to religious counseling services in other faiths.
But honestly, this was never really about courts.
This is about Sadiq Khan.
Trump has repeatedly targeted London’s Muslim mayor for years.
And critics say he keeps using fear about Islam to create political outrage headlines.
What makes this situation even more embarrassing diplomatically is this:
The United Kingdom is America’s closest ally.
Yet the President of the United States stood there making false claims about Britain’s legal system… and Britain’s own Prime Minister publicly contradicted him almost immediately.
A spokesperson for Khan responded perfectly:
“The Mayor is clearly still living rent free in Donald Trump’s head.”
And this is why the controversy exploded online.
Because many people believe this was not a “mistake.”
They believe it was deliberate political messaging designed to scare people about Muslims and immigration.
❓ If a president keeps repeating claims that are publicly debunked by allies, should people still trust his statements on bigger global issues?
