Indian drinking water problem can be solved at a lower cost.
Many will get shock with this. I believe there are some compelling reasons for not solving this. It is difficult for me to prove them. Over a period of time many initiatives are taken up for water conservation or water harvesting. These are really good from social perspective.
The long-term solution can be sought with technological breakthrough. Somehow in our country we do not use technology easily, even if it is long term and cost effective.
Political will and administrative procedures can make it happen. Alas these are the most scares thing in our country.
Middle east, Israel, few Latin American countries and even in India Chennai, AP, Lakshadweep have ventured to partially solve scare water problem.
Water desalination plant is the way to go ahead to solve problem in a cost-effective way. Many places this is used.
I am sure many experts, politicians and administrators in our country are very much aware of this solution. I am not sure what stops them from making it happen.
I urge you to please forward this message to your friends. May be someone who is really influential can take it up appropriately.
Your help is very much needed to solve our country water problems.
Thanks & Regards,

Desalination is a process that takes away mineral components from saline water. More generally, desalination refers to the removal of salts and minerals from a target substance,[1] as in soil desalination, which is an issue for agriculture.[2]
