Since the major change in creative design of this century, it is definitely harder for many designers to clearly communicate with their clients and partners of what it is exactly we do. How can one create a single but truly descriptive word to explain the nature of our works? Then at some unknown point in history, designers began adopting the word “creative” as a noun as in “I’m a creative”. Creativity is not just the use of your imagination, it is the use of your imagination followed by the act of creation. Truly, some people can come up the idea so unique and awesome that the world could have change around them. In a sense, their designs are just a part of the ideas so beautifully create and form in such manner that many cannot resist to follow them. However, having great ideas and thoughts is not enough to be creative, without producing and acting out those thoughts, great ideas alone would be just being imaginative. Charles Mingus, a highly influential American jazz double bassist, once said that ”Creativity is more than just being different. What’s hard is to be as simple as Bach. Making the simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity.”
