Why Petha, specially from AGRA is so famous.

History of "Agra ka Petha"

in the early of 1600 century when NurJahan was Empress of the Mughal Empire as the chief consort of emperor Jahangir who ruled Agra (Capital of Mughal emperor at that time). A strong, charismatic and well-educated woman, she is considered to be one of the most powerful and influential women of the Mughal Empire.

Legend has it that the empress NurJahan’s convoy halted at petha market by seeing preparation of petha, she found sweet very attractive, there only she decided to take the petha sweet in Mughal kitchen with some royal touch, She asked the petha producer that she want this to be served in Agra Fort (where Emperor and Empress use to live) in crystalline and translucent form of sweet Petha. This housed the petha industry at that time. She was offered the humble petha as a traditional Indian offering of sweets to the guest and the Empress liked its taste and lavished praise on it. The ancestors of those petha producers are producing petha and we bring you the same taste and quality at your place.
