Meet Bholu Baba, the heartbeat of Varanasi, sharing the "living diary" of Assi Ghat. From sunrise chants to evening prayers, discover why this sacred spot is more than just steps and water. 🕉️✨

The name "Assi" comes from the word for sword (Asi).

The Battle: Legend has it that Goddess Durga, after a fierce battle with the demon brothers Shumbha and Nishumbha, was so exhausted that she threw her sword away.

The River: The spot where her sword struck the earth gave birth to a stream, which became the Assi River.

The Confluence: Assi Ghat marks the exact point where this stream merges with the holy Ganga. Taking a dip here is said to be equivalent to visiting all other pilgrimage sites in the world combined.
