Sometimes the real story happens between shots.

Jaipur, City Palace.
Steve McCurry shooting. Filippo Ricci watching closely.
Then, on a tiny camera screen… penguins in a green field.

Six months later, Patagonia.

Coincidence?
Maybe.
Precursors? Definitely.

Sometimes vision arrives before the journey.

Working with Steve McCurry once was a privilege.
Doing it twice, even more.

Following our first Stefano Ricci Explorer mission together in Cambodia, we met again in Fatehpur Sikri.

Being there meant following the whole process once again — from the set to the final printed catalogue.

Thanks to for one of the images featured here.

Art as a visual dialogue — Chapter 4/4.

The final chapter of the Tribute to Art series was dedicated to René Gruau.
A natural choice, inspired by his Parisian story and his deep connection to fashion, shaped during his years working in the atelier of Christian Dior.

For this project, Segno developed a visual and editorial concept for Stefano Ricci, built around elegance, gesture, and graphic synthesis.
A hardbound cover was chosen to reinforce the perception of quality and to underline the timeless nature of Gruau’s visual language.

A closing chapter where illustration, fashion, and heritage converge — completing the dialogue between art and style.

Art as a visual dialogue — Chapter 3/4.

For the third catalogue, Segno conceived a tribute to one of the world’s most important museums: the Galleria degli Uffizi.
A natural step for a Florentine maison such as Stefano Ricci, deeply rooted in Made in Italy and Made in Florence.

The concept focused on the Uffizi’s extraordinary collection of self-portraits.
Seventeen rarely seen works were selected and placed in visual dialogue with contemporary photographic portraits: historical and modern faces mirrored across time, costume and identity.

A complex production involving casting, cinematic makeup, photography, and meticulous post-production, resulting in a catalogue that still amazes art directors and producers today.

A chapter where heritage, craftsmanship, and vision converged — reaching its peak with the runway show held inside the Uffizi in June 2012.

Art as a visual dialogue — Chapter 2/4.

Continuing the exploration of art, Segno developed the second catalogue for Stefano Ricci by shifting the focus to a contemporary artist.
From the surrealism of Magritte to the hyper-realistic, cinematic atmospheres of Jack Vettriano.

Inspired by his iconic imagery and distinctive use of light, the project translated painting into photography through a carefully constructed visual narrative.
Shot on the Versilia coast, the production gave life to a series of images that still define the visual memory of the campaign (2012).

A chapter where fashion, cinema, and emotion converged into a new photographic language.
