With the exhibition Alpine Scenarios. Landscapes and Communities of Lombardy, curated by Matteo Balduzzi, MUNAF Museo Nazionale di Fotografia takes centre stage in the Milano Cortina 2026 Cultural Olympiad. Produced with the support of Regione Lombardia, the exhibition presents seven projects by visual artists who won MUNAF’s eponymous Call for Projects.
The works range from photography to video, from multimedia installation to ethnographic inquiry, offering a deep and multifaceted reading of the Lombard mountains.

Identità visiva per La Notte del Re di Biss, festival culturale in tre atti.
La Notte del Re di Biss é un dispositivo di racconto del genius loci di Civiasco (Vc), piccolo comune della Valsesia. Il folklore, l’apparato di simboli, la storia e la comunità locali diventano protagonisti di un racconto contemporaneo che interroga temi universali: il rapporto uomo/natura e l’uso dell’immaginario come strumento di conoscenza del reale. Tre appuntamenti poetici ed evocativi, ma mai seriosi, per scoprire il luogo e il mistero che lo abita.

La Notte del Re di Biss is a narrative device for exploring the genius loci of Civiasco, a small town in Valsesia, in the province of Vercelli. Local folklore, symbols, history and community become the protagonists of a contemporary narrative that addresses universal themes: the relationship between humans and nature, and the use of imagination as a tool for understanding reality.
Three poetic and evocative events, never overly solemn, designed to discover the place and the mystery that inhabits it.

Lella e Massimo Vignelli e Feudi di San Gregorio” è un volume di 112 pagine, edito da Sole 24 Ore Cultura e curato dalla storica del design Domitilla Dardi con Eleonora D’Alessandro ed il progetto grafico di studio FM milano. Il progetto applica il canone Vignelli per rafforzare la continuità stilistica con l’iconico progetto di labeling fatto dai maestri per i Feudi di San Gregorio.

Il libro racconta il rapporto creativo e umano che, venticinque anni fa, ha unito i designer Lella e Massimo Vignelli a Ella e Antonio Capaldo, alla guida di Feudi di San Gregorio, dando vita all’identità visiva che ancora oggi distingue l’azienda.

Rinovo transforms the construction site tarpaulins from the Rome Jubilee 2025 into a new resource. The materials are recovered and reworked in the textile workshops of the Francesco Uccella Correctional Facility in Santa Maria Capua Vetere, where they are turned into useful items, combining environmental sustainability with social inclusion.

Studio FM Milano developed the concept in collaboration with the Municipality of Rome, created the project name, and designed the overall visual identity.

Snow, out of the museum—into the street. ❄️

On Via Ventimiglia, studio co-founder Cristiano Bottino turns a poster-art wall into an extension of MUDEC’s exhibition “The Sense of Snow” and the forthcoming 4th issue of MU – Mudec United magazine, dedicated to snow.

A modular atlas of snow made of 290 posters traces its formation, accumulation, transformation, and memory through images, texts, maps, and multilingual fragments—making snow a shared cultural ground, beyond the museum walls.

The wall blends graphic studies, personal-archive photos, AI-made images, and objects featured in the exhibition.
