This is a unofficial blog dedicated to The Expo 2015. The Expo 2015, is the next Universal Exposition organized by the International Exhibitions Bureau which will be held in Italy, precisely in Milan. The previous Expo, Expo 2012, was hosted by South Korea with the participation of over 100 countries and over 8 million visitors from all over the world. While the previous exposition theme was “The
Living Ocean and Coast”, the theme of Expo 2014 is “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. Other than the primary theme, there are 7 sub-themes: Science for Food Safety, Security and Quality, Innovation in the Agro Food Supply Chain, Technology for Agriculture and Biodiversity, Dietary Education, Solidarity and Cooperation on Food, Food for Better Lifestyles and Food in the World’s Cultures and Ethnic Groups. It will therefore be an exhibition focused not only on food, but also solidarity, security, health, research and overall it will be about how we can improve life in the world and which technologies can be developed to reach this objective, and when we talk about food, technology and innovation, which country is better than Italy? Having beaten the competition of the Turkish candidates of Izmir for the selection of the Expo 2015 hosting city, Milan is prepari to welcome over 130 countries and it is expected the arrival of over 20 million visitors from all over the planet. The design has been studied by an international group of architects formed by Stefano Boeri, Richard Burdett, Mark Rylander and Jacues Herzog, with half of the space dedicated to the pavilions, an artificial lage, an amphiteather able to welcome 12.000 people and an auditorium that can host another 6.000, and more and more that will make of this exhibition, the most important of 2015 globally and for Milano.
