Today, announce the release of their eagerly anticipated new album “Soft Control” coming August 21, 2026, via Royal Cream / .
The band also releases a brand-new single “Jungle Roux” today on all streaming digital services; The Afghan Whigs are also announcing new tour dates today in Europe for this fall. Tickets for all shows will go on sale this Friday.

The Afghan Whigs new album, “Soft Control” is testament to the old David Bowie quote, where he describes aging as “an extraordinary process where you become the person you always should have been.” By now, the volatile years of band leader Greg Dulli’s youth have been substituted with a wry and self-aware satori. The edge and sensitive temperament remain but the unchecked infernos of ego and rage no longer threaten personal immolation. And Dulli’s vocals are simultaneously the strongest and most delicate that they’ve ever been.

“I’ve worked hard on my inner peace,” Dulli commented. “I was an angry young man, and it fueled my art, ambition and my drive. I wouldn’t change anything because I can’t. But as I got into photography and other art forms, I realized that I’m not in competition with anyone – including myself. Now, I know what I’m doing and there’s a quiet confidence that comes with being able to back it up.”

The album captures The Afghan Whigs’ unique ability to conflagrate stab-you-in-your-nose bone guitars and cubist refractions of soul and R&B. You expect bangers from The Afghan Whigs, and there are bangers. Yet there is a reconciliation of loud volume and somber reflections, living life with joy and purpose while keeping one eye on the clock and remaining aware of the absurdity. The Afghan Whigs’ tenth album is a sterling addition to a singular body of work –a double-sided invitation to embrace the light and welcome the darkness.

sixth studio album “Look For Your Mind!”, out May 8th on , contains an undercurrent of paranoia and suspicion underneath its poppy exterior.

“I do think that now is a time of insanity”, admits Brian after pausing for thought. “You really have to hold onto your own mind if you don’t wanna lose it”.

With the skills they’ve acquired over the last two records, their many outside productions, and time on the road, they’ve imparted a vital but disciplined spirit. At the LP’s core, as always with the Lemon Twigs, is great songwriting.

This is what the press have to say, over a series of interviews, reviews and even a magazine cover 🤘

This follows their newest, ninth studio album HOUSE OF CARDS, Released via on April 24.

It is impossible to consider the music of The Amity Affliction as anything but visceral, emotional and relentless in its energy and impact. Their storied career has produced eight studio albums that have become torchbearers for many formative chapters of Australian metal music; as a band they have firmly established their place as one of the country’s most enduring names of the heavy genre.

The band manifest pure power with “HOUSE OF CARDS”, in a way that will serve as a reminder of the band’s passion and dedication to the craft. This is an album of songs that navigates dark themes including grief, addiction, rage and loss, in a way that seeks catharsis and release.

today announce the August 28 release of their new album Pure Ecstasy via new label home . Marking the band’s sixth album and first release with the label, Pure Ecstasy finds frontman pushing Beartooth further than ever before across 11 massive tracks that channel both the chaos and clarity of hard-won personal growth.

Today the band also drop the album’s opening title-track where Shomo lays everything bare from the first note. It’s a raw, disorienting entry point - where extremes of emotion blur together - setting the tone for an album built on confronting every high and low without flinching. “Song one is always a crucial part of an album to me. It’s gotta lock you into the vibe out of the gate,” says Shomo. “‘Pure Ecstasy’ was birthed in a studio with , ridiculous loudspeakers, and the dumbest heaviest chugs we could chug. Once it was brought home and expanded on with , there was no question it was the album opener. Play loud and kick ass.”
For years, Beartooth turned pain into anthems shouted back at the world. Pure Ecstasy captures what happens on the other side of that fight: not perfection or peace, but the possibility of freedom.
