Unlearning has been one of the biggest challenges of my adult life, but it has also been one of the most rewarding and essential things I've ever done.

It has allowed me to confront toxic religious narratives that perpetuated harm, both to myself and others. It allowed me to challenge the biases embedded in myself and in our systems. It has allowed me to call out my own s**t.

It’s something I always want to be intentional about because there’s no finish line to this process.

This year was tough (to put it mildly)… but there's a lot to be grateful for as well. Even as we sit in more COVID uncertainty, I’m hopeful about what is to come. Honestly I have to be hopeful because what is the alternative? One of the things I’ve had to really wrestle with this year is how hard hope can be.

The projects we've worked on this year have been a good reminder that fighting for things I believe in doesn't stop even if we're in the middle of a pandemic. In fact, it makes it all the more important to fight for the solutions to the most pressing issues—healthcare, climate crisis, wealth inequality, and so many more. May the coming year hold more kindness, hope, connection, and opportunity. I’m believing that for all of us ❤️

I love these words from Sor Maria Rosa Leggol. We’re working on a project about her and her story is so inspiring—she’s helped thousands of children in Honduras escape poverty. She passed from COVID last year, but her work lives on in , the organization she founded. If you’re looking for ways to make a difference this holiday season, they do amazing work to help children.
