Isola Space presents EARTHBOUND SPIRITS, the debut exhibition by Alkimista and the first chapter of a new partnership between Isola Design and the Middle East’s first platform dedicated to Mexican art and collectible design. The exhibition welcomes visitors from June 17 to August 31, 2026, at Isola Space.

The exhibition introduces a selection of unique works by some of Mexico’s most celebrated master artisans, showcasing generations of craftsmanship across ceramics, clay, carved wood, and textiles. EARTHBOUND SPIRITS invites visitors into a sensory journey through myth, land, materiality, and transformation.

Extending beyond Isola Space, the exhibition continues through a dedicated installation presented in collaboration with Soul Kitchen, official exhibition partner, creating a dialogue between both venues and expanding the experience into the wider city. Featuring one of the exhibition’s largest works, the installation establishes a physical and conceptual connection between both spaces and will remain on view throughout the exhibition period.

"Incontro," the format created by Cantiere Galli Design to promote synergies between design, territory and hospitality, returned with its fourth appointment yesterday, June 16, 2026. From the collaboration between Olimpia Zagnoli and Poliart came "Isolotto," a modular furnishing element conceived as a seat, support base, or play element.

Conceived in two different heights for adults and children, the elements can be easily transported, moved and recomposed thanks to the lightness of the structure, freely adapting to different uses and configurations. The collection will be donated to Peter Pan ODV, continuing to live in the spaces of the association as a tangible symbol of a design that chooses to be a tool of care.

𝐓𝐀𝐁 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 “𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐌𝐔𝐂𝐇?” 𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐒 𝐈𝐓𝐒 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐌𝐄

Dedicated to the theme “How Much?”, the Tallinn Architecture Biennale (TAB 2026) turns attention to the relationship between constraint, cost and architecture that has remained suppressed in much of architectural discourse, to unlock new ways of understanding the meaning of value, affordability and responsibility in architecture.

Addressing both architects and the general public, the TAB 2026 Official Programme consists of five main events: a Curatorial Exhibition, a Symposium, a Vision Competition Exhibition, an Installation Programme and an International Architecture Schools' Exhibition.

On the one hand, the curatorial theme explores architectural strategies that emerge from conditions of constraint, scarcity and limited resources; on the other, it examines the broader social, ecological and temporal costs that often remain invisible behind the economic realities of construction.

“How Much?” investigates the paradox of cheapness in architecture, challenging its conventional association with low cost and efficiency. Instead, it proposes frugality as a critical and generative mode of practice, encouraging architects to rethink value beyond price and to consider the long-term impacts of design on communities, resources and the environment.

The 8th Tallinn Architecture Biennale (TAB 2026), organised by the Estonian Centre for Architecture, whose Opening Week will take place from September 9th–13th, 2026 proudly announces its programme. Centred at Tallinn’s iconic Linnahall as the Biennale’s main venue and unfolding across several key locations in the city, is designed to foster dialogue, multidisciplinarity and experimentation.

Entitled “How Much?”, the Curatorial Exhibition is hosted at Tallinn’s iconic Linnahall from 9 September to 30 November 2026. Taking the Biennale’s central question as its starting point, the exhibition explores the relationship between constraint, cost and architecture, examining how economic pressures shape the built environment and influence architectural value.

The exhibition unfolds within Linnahall, a monumental seaside civic complex built for the 1980 Summer Olympics and one of the most significant examples of late Soviet modernism in Estonia. Beyond its architectural significance, Linnahall holds a special place in the life of the city: as a gateway to the sea and a hub for civic and cultural activities. By opening the building for the duration of the Biennale, TAB reconnects the city with the memories, encounters, and debates that have defined Linnahall over time.

In occasion of IPER – Festival delle Periferie, Alvisi Kirimoto presents the project "Get a handle on!" at MAAM Museo dell'Altro e dell'Altrove di Metropoliz_città meticcia, within the exhibition "Joy – Conditions of Belonging" (29–31 May 2026), curated by Atelier Cory Henry.

The project is a playful and spatial intervention that transforms MAAM into a landscape of micro-discoveries through a treasure hunt built around a series of handles, designed by diverse creatives and disseminated throughout the museum's spaces.

"Get a handle on!" invites visitors to move through the museum as explorers, transforming the act of searching into a way to orient oneself, participate and feel part of a temporary community.

Água mole em pedra dura (Little Strokes Fell Great Oaks), the first solo show in Italy of artist Rodrigo Torres, is now on view at rhinoceros gallery, as part of its collaboration with the Brazilian gallery A Gentil Carioca. Born and raised in Tijuca, a Rio de Janeiro neighborhood long defined by the presence of the forest and by the coexistence between urbanization and nature, Torres developed a practice deeply informed by the tensions between growth, erosion, permanence, and destruction.

The sculptures explore the transformation of matter and the return to the earth: minerals extracted from the soil, elevated to monumental shapes, eventually fragment and return to the ground under the combined action of natural forces and human intervention. The reflection draws on Torres' direct experience of the Tijuca Forest, where monumental trees fall, parts of mountains crumble under the action of wind and water, fungi spread across fallen trunks and seeds proliferate: "what the earth gives, it also reclaims."

In Rome, the artist encountered an opposite condition. Here, architecture appears suspended in a constant effort to resist time and deterioration. Cracks are repaired, surfaces preserved, and structures reinforced in order to delay collapse. Torres' sculptures exist within this strain, questioning the stability of their own structures and suggesting a latent possibility of collapse. Alongside the sculptures, the trompe-l'œil paintings resembling collages translate his sculptural language into two dimensions, decomposing material forms into overlapping planes and fragments.

Shape of Belonging examined the quiet ties between identity and ancestry through craft and memory. Each piece operated as a vessel of inherited knowledge. While cultures, languages and gestures appeared distinct, they often stemmed from shared human impulses. Developed in collaboration between Isola Design and Oliwia Maria Studio, the exhibition treated craft as a universal language.

Default Is Not Universal — The same design. Different perceptions rejected a single, fixed perspective. Curated by Isola for Ithra - King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, it invited visitors to engage with works by designers from the MENA region while becoming part of the experience themselves. With the support of AI, responses were translated into visual outputs, revealing diverse readings of the same designs.

Archivi Futuri explored the future of objects beyond 2050, imagining new ways of archiving emotions, cultural production and the state of the world. Co-curated by Isola and Pietro Petrillo, the exhibition reflected on how today's creative output can remain sustainable, accessible and meaningful for generations to come.

Rhinocerosgallery continues its collaboration with the Brazilian gallery A Gentil Carioca with a second project: the first solo show in Italy of artist Rodrigo Torres, "Água mole em pedra dura" (Little Strokes Fell Great Oaks). The exhibition was conceived during his two-month artistic residency between c.r.e.t.a, Rome’s leading center forceramic arts, where the works were produced, and rhinoceros, where the sculptures and works on paper were completed.

From June 9th to August 13th, 2026,Torres unveils a new series of works influenced by Rome's cultural landscape, including ceramic sculptures and a fountain. The artist will also present a new series of drawings and paintings on paper, medium he has explored throughout his career but never presented to the public. The exhibition marks a shift in Torres’ approach to surface and color. Rather than employing his usual glazed ceramic technique, in which pigments are fixed through firing, the artist develops surfaces that reference Roman marble trompe-l’œilpainting and frescoesencountered throughout the city.
