"𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐓𝐎": 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍, 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐘 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐀𝐓 𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐆𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐈 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍

"Incontro" returns with its fourth appointment on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 6:30 to 9:30 PM, at Cantiere Galli Design (Via Antonio Pacinotti 63, Roma). Protagonists of this chapter are Olimpia Zagnoli, illustrator and multidisciplinary artist recognized internationally, and Poliart, a company specialized in expanded polystyrene processing and three-dimensional creative solutions. From their collaboration comes "Isolotto," a modular furnishing element conceived as a seat, support base, or play element.

"Isolotto" explores the playful dimension as a tool for relation and imagination, through a system of organic shapes that can transform into a seat or microarchitecture to be crossed and reinvented. Twelve complements in EPS HD, proposed in three shades — vibrant red, soft green, and soft purple. The event will close with a concrete gesture of solidarity: the furnishings will be donated to Peter Pan ODV, an organization that for over thirty years has offered support to families of children and adolescents with cancer.

For the Salone del Mobile 2026, l'Opificio presented a new collaboration with designer Chiara Andreatti, author of three original collections — Incisa, Signum and Fiora — which interpret the company's textile identity through a refined, essential and distinctly contemporary perspective.

The collections expressed a sober and conscious idea of beauty, where detail is never decoration for its own sake but part of a coherent expressive system.

"In Incisa, Signum and Fiora we recognise a direct, clean and precise style, capable of expressing a contemporary elegance without excess. Chiara has been able to interpret our identity through an essential yet deeply expressive sign, where the textile material becomes a living surface of rhythm and light." — says Paola Bertoldo, President of l'Opificio.

The design of the stand was entrusted to STUDIOTAMAT, which transformed the exhibition space into a contemporary textile workshop where the creative process became an integral part of the narrative.

The TAB 2026 Vision Competition “From Void to Value” invited proposals for reimagining Tallinn’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, with a focus on Harju Street. The competition addressed the reactivation of urban voids within a historic context, balancing heritage preservation with contemporary urban needs.

The first prize was awarded to A Place Reclaimed by Patrick Liik, Mikael Ristmets, Kaari Maria Tirmaste, Martin Sepp, and Valerii Krinberg, a team of young architects and urban designers based in Estonia and the Netherlands. The project reimagines Harju Street as a staged urban transformation, introducing an incremental “city within the city” that develops through existing structures, passages, and courtyards. It reconnects the Lower Town and Toompea and treats heritage as an active spatial layer rather than a static condition.

The jury highlighted the clarity of the proposal, noting its strong spatial strategy: «A highly ambitious and well-presented strategy that introduces a “city within the city” behind a street-side wall: an incremental urban village with civic and community functions. The idea of reconnecting the Danish King’s Garden and introducing a new bridge and vertical links is widely appreciated. The kiosk-like small units and the screen element raise questions about suitability and possible cliché. Despite these reservations, the project is regarded as one of the strongest and most discussion-worthy visions».

The Installation Programme Competition “Budget Bougie” invited architects to rethink notions of luxury through the lens of limited resources, proposing a temporary outdoor pavilion in front of the Estonian Museum of Architecture in Tallinn’s Rotermann district. The jury reviewed over 100 submissions from more than 30 countries worldwide.

The winning proposal, Resonance by Aru Ma- Architects architectural practice founded in 2021 by Cheng Hao Chung and Zhang Jie, with team members Cui Jiakai and Matteo Minnicelli, and based between Shanghai and Tokyo, was selected for its reinterpretation of luxury as an intensified spatial and atmospheric experience created through ordinary materials.

Conceived as a quiet courtyard detached from the intense and noisy atmosphere of Tallinn’s traffic island setting, the installation combines rebar, ropes, limestone, and plywood to create a space of intimacy, resonance, and temporary retreat. Through a carefully balanced tensile structure anchored by a central stone core, the project transforms strict economic and material constraints into an immersive architectural environment.

The winning installation willbe realised in August 2026 and inaugurated during the Opening Week of TAB 2026 in the public space in front of the Estonian Museum of Architecture.
