Teramo, August. 38°C in the shade 🔥
The asphalt is melting, I'm melting, the few people still in the office are melting.
Outside it's constant construction noise, bikes roaring past, and I'm thinking that next year I'll sell a kidney just to buy another one back.
And what does the designer do? The designer thinks, replaying café-table conversations about the construction companies that have "decorated" the city with their graphics.
Then a bulldozer "zooms" down the street, and right behind it a 1098 patiently crawling along at walking pace, its Testastretta spitting out heat like hell itself whenever it slows down.
Inside that helmet there are probably curses in several languages and dialects, but the sound and the lines are a masterpiece, through and through Italian.
That's where the designer proves his head works differently — and this isn't self-praise, we just don't function normally. What if these two worlds collided?
So, between the AC running all day and the window thrown open all night, the idea was born:
pretend Ducati actually built its own "Bobcat."
Then again, with how things are going in Europe, you've got to hustle any way you can to make ends meet.
I imagined a true hybrid: the brutal, honest character of a construction machine fused with the aerodynamic purity of a superbike.
Construction-site muscle and race-track fairing, merged into one machine.
