Congratulations are in order for our esteemed Managing Director, Marcia Nicely, who has been honored with the Women in Manufacturing and Exporting Award by the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association.
For over thirty years, Marcia Nicely has been a trailblazer in the Jamaican garment manufacturing sector. Her unparalleled accomplishments and unique leadership approach have undoubtedly reshaped the industry. While Jamaica is globally celebrated for its unmatched athletes, pulsating music, and flavorful cuisine, it is not traditionally recognized for garment manufacturing. However, under Marcia's visionary leadership, our company has introduced groundbreaking innovations in garment production. Today, we stand proud not only as Jamaica's leading garment manufacturer but also as the second largest in the English-speaking Caribbean. Thanks to the expansion of Designs by Marc throughout Jamaica and into 13 other regional markets, our nation is firmly etched on the map as a pivotal manufacturing hub in the Caribbean.
Mrs. Nicely was honored to share the stage with other eminent female leaders in Jamaica. These included Michelle Chong, the CEO of Honey Bun Limited; Shanique Ellington of Le Champ Cosmetics; Nayana Williams of Lifespan Company Limited; Theresa Lindo from Pure National; Martha Ann-Miller of National Rums of Jamaica Ltd; Christal-Ann Thompson from Honey Vera Ltd; Kareema Muncey from Home Choice Enterprise Limited; and Rose Dietrich from Nicorp.
