Residents of St Elizabeth have blocked the main road from Lacovia to Haughton as they protest about the road conditions.

The residents are also reportedly angry about the lack of water and electricity.

The St Elizabeth police are advising commuters to expect delays along the roadway.

They are also encouraging persons to use alternative routes if possible.

Quincy Jones, the multi-talented music titan whose extensive legacy ranged from producing Michael Jackson’s historic “Thriller” album to writing prize-winning film and television scores and collaborating with Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles and hundreds of other recording artists, has died at 91.
Jones’ publicist, Arnold Robinson, says he died Sunday night at his home in the Bel Air section of Los Angeles, surrounded by his family.

The police are reporting that one of the four men shot in Slim Lane, Curatoe Hill, Clarendon, on Wednesday has succumbed to his injuries. He is 32-year-old Marvin Harriott, an event decorator of Slim Lane. Harriott was admitted in critical condition in hospital.

Iconic media personality and radio broadcaster Alan Magnus has passed away at 80 year old.

Magnus was well known on the airways alongside the late Dorraine Samuels, formed the iconic Radio Jamaica duo, who hosted very popular morning programme.

He signed off on March 31, 2017, retiring after a 46-year stint on the national radio waves.
