Hanoi began piloting a Low Emission Zone (L*Z) within Ring Road 1 in July 2026, with vehicle restrictions being introduced in phases through 2029. At the same time, the city is expanding cleaner alternatives, including 45 bus routes, 1,820 public electric vehicles, more than 10,200 EV charging ports and around 1,650 battery-swapping cabinets. This transition is creating opportunities across EV infrastructure, public transport, smart mobility and environmental technologies.
