Resale is booming, but it’s the hidden world of reverse logistics that’s driving the revolution.

Companies like TERSUS and have been quietly mastering the complex process of sorting, repairing, and reselling used goods. These “3PLs” — or third-party logistics processors — are the unsung heroes, powering the resale economy by innovating everything from waterless cleaning tech to AI-driven sorting.

As brands like , and go deeper into re-commerce, the question isn’t just about growth—it’s about whether they’ll keep investing in the back-end systems that made it all possible.

I truly can’t decide between sweating profusely, or covering my body entirely these days. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve been surprised to see a lot of people trekking around Japan in head to toe denim or workwear fabrics in summer. Mad respect to the fashion game, but I need breezier fabrics. And I’m trying to adapt to these modern, muggy times in more natural fibers.

What do you wear when it’s sweaty as all hell but you still have places to go, things to do, and people to see? (And your birthday suit just ain’t an option.)

Getting real crunchy over here…

Because I’m back on the h**p trail, seeing if this sustainable textile can make a real comeback in the US.

This time, I’m telling the story of how big business finally found the farmers on the fringes—helping them produce an industrial-grade textile America hasn’t manufactured since the Second World War.

It’s a story of industriousness, environmentalism and American partnership. I’m learning a lot reporting it and I hope you’ll enjoy reading it when it’s published in in October.

[Pictured: Kasi at a h**p farm at Waggoner Ranch that’s just been harvested. H**p is left to sit in the field in a process called “dew retting” that begins to separate fibers from harvested plant stalks. Stalks are hit with nighttime dew and spread out to ferment. The goal is to produce a strong, dark gray fiber that’s easier to process directly from the field.

In increasingly dry and hot times, farmers have a hard time with dew retting and are experimenting with other methods of breaking down h**p fibers to adapt to climate change.]

Take the trouble out of travel…

It’s not a real vacation unless you go into it with your head on straight. 🙃

You’re usually firing off emails, closing the loop on projects, and tending to a million and one things at home before a trip. Don’t let outfit planning and packing be another stressor.

How I can help:

〰️ Curating, organizing, and packing you the right stuff

〰️ Creating a daily look list with interchangeable pieces (helping you pack lighter)

〰️ Finding the items you want from slow fashion brands or secondhand (to get you photo-ready!)

Have an upcoming trip and needs tips? Reply with a 🙋‍♀️ in the comments and I’ll DM you.

Hope you get one last trip in before summer ends!

Another upcycled gem made her debut last night.

This one’s made from deadstock fabric by .

I almost nailed head-to-toe secondhand with this look. Everything except the necklace and watch are secondhand or made from repurposed materials.

I’ve been wearing a lot of color lately, and it feels good to go back to black in an anything but basic silhouette.

How to style that button down you’ve been meaning to wear…

1. Button it in a new or interesting way. Just button the top to expose some skin and flip the conservative button down on its head.

2. Layer it under a corset or tight tank. The key to layering here is crispness. A starchier shirt will help you achieve a better final shape.

Go eco ♻️ and skip the chemical starch spray. Instead, lightly dampen with water, white vinegar and lemon juice and iron with care.

Why I became a personal stylist

As early as I can remember, my favorite part of the day was planning my outfit.

I was shy when I was younger and clothes were a way I could show people who I was, without having to tell them.

But there was another force in my life that stopped me from fully embracing my hard-wiring for fashion. I loved school. And I was good at it. I thought that clothes were something to be earned with academic, and eventual, professional success.

Before I learned about the industry and how many disciplines it crossed — I believed my clothes were merely a complement to my life, not the main show.

So I put fashion on the back burner while I pursued a career in media. But continued to devour fashion content and eventually started creating my own when I came to my damn senses.

Some of you know me from my blog The Peahen, where I wrote about sustainable fashion for 10 years. To put that journey into words is for another time. But while I was writing and educating, people kept asking me for help with their wardrobes. They needed more than blogs and guides; they needed an actual human.

So in 2020, I started building a sustainable wardrobe styling studio, knowing I would take clients when Covid passed.

I designed services like Conscious Closet Cleanouts, Local Style Tours, Personal Secondhand Shopping, and more. Since then, I’ve consciously expanded and am I’m working with clients virtually and in Austin.

✨Oh, and I rebranded The Peahen to Peahen Studio, to showcase the blog alongside my styling services.✨

I’m grateful for this evolution and that I’m in role that blends my expertise with creativity…one where I get to plan help you plan outfits for a living!

Running a small biz isn’t easy, but it’s worth it when you realize that unconventional thing you dreamed about as a kid actually became your career.

As I continue to grow the Studio, I would be honored to come into your closet. Message me if I can help ❤️🙏🏻
